Zone1 What Is Your Vision For America

As a nation we need to place less expectations on everyday non wealthy workers. We are an anxiety filled nation because we expect too much of people. Stress, anxiety, desperate ugly rat race.

Government can't do anything about capability. Opportunity is what should be the concern.
If government sticks to its constitutional responsibility to promote--that is PROMOTE, not PROVIDE--the general welfare, and the government facilitates the values and principles that result in the best chances for personal, community, state, and national success, the opportunity will always be there.

But it is ok for government to ban what people can wear, do in their bedrooms, what books to read and who to marry. It is ok for government to dictate what you can do with your body and who you're! It is ok for government to go after political enemies if they have different beliefs with the military and with the doj.

I don't think government should be doing any of such and I am for big and powerful government. The thing is I am for big and powerful government that is good and helps make our society better. One that is the middle man that make corporate America treat people with respect, one that helps the poor, sick and disabled and one that invests within itself.. Republicans seem to want big and powerful government that hurts and destroys people.
You will have a very difficult time coming up with ANYTHING the Republicans promote that hurts or destroys anything. You should actually look at the facts and truth instead of baseless Democrat propaganda.

Honestly, I expand the constitution to modern times allowing for our federal government to do as every other federal government on gods earth does for itself and its people. Of course it already does have this power but such would be written out to be clearly defined for even the 2 year old to understand.
-The ability to build infrastructure, invest in science, tech and education without hearing the bs argument that we have to live in the 18th century like hicks. It doesn't work.
-The ability to help its own people
All clearly defined.
Modern political theory would be applied in the updated document. As in the first amendment would be expanded to the internet, telephone and t.v.

I'd like single payer healthcare for all just like every other modern society on earth.

I'd like to elect the president based on the popular vote.
Double the number of seats in the house
Reform the senate...Maybe below 1 million would get 1 seat, 1-4.9 million 2 seats, 5 million to 9.9 million 3 seats and 10 million to 25 million 4 seats???
I think you might enjoy England.

That is exactly what the framers wanted to avoid at the federal level (but gave states almost complete power to do so).

And no it does not have that power. If it did, FDR would not have had to wait for the SCOTUS to die off to pass his socialist mess.

What modern political theory would be applied?

If you held a constitutional convention right now in an effort to get what you stated above, the resulting constitution would be even more restrictive than before.

I like that idea.

Most would agree with that ideal situation. I would. However, to get to that point, we first have to clean up existing inequalities so everyone can start on a level playing field.
So please define what "existing inequalities" need to be "clean up". ???
How would you define a level playing field, especially compared to what you think currently exists ???

Parse any of those unrealistic pipe dreams into an Amendment and see how many States would vote to approve such.
BTW, I'd encourage you to reread the Constitution. Much of what you present above is there already.
Also read some of the literature on the thinking of the Founders as to why they wrote the Constitution as they did.

A balanced budget and effort to reduce Debt would be higher priority in my opinion. Especially when you look at the greater debt level of those other "modern society" you think we should regress to.
Take a look at the list here;

for donny & those who have grabbed their ankles for him - to be held accountable for their crimes.

1. Build the NAFTA wall on the northern border.

2. US army rearming 100,000 to 550,000 troops or rearming 250,000 to 700,000 troops.

No one says that. Take your straw man in for repairs.

The armed forces were strongest from 1900 to 1990. The army was well equipped. The army right now needs to be equipped.

Decentralize and relocalize everything: government, taxes, economy, media, etc.
Conserve energy with walkable communities, walkable commutes, etc. One example is discarding the suits that are dry clean only. If it can't be thrown in a washing machine or handwashed, it's rag material.

In early 2024, I started a thread saying I thought MAGA was just a sales pitch or rallying cry. Nothing in that so-called "discussion" changed my mind.

I am thinking about resurrecting the thread to kane those who continue to say "It's obvious." No it isn't. Far from it. And right now, it's even less obvious.

But, this thread is about vision, a vision for America. It can be couched in different aspects.

As is supposed to happen, I get three rules:

1. No bashing anyone else. You can certainly disagree, but no starting with...."The demos are idiots".
2. If you don't agree that something is a good component of a vision, you may speak on the suggestion. Leave the poster alone.
3. If you have something specific, be specific. (i.e balanced budget.....means we take in more than we spend..simple test).

And here we go:

A component of my vision of America is that we reduce all federal legislation to only those things that are consistent with the Constitution. That means a great many things need to be transfered to the states.

A component of my vision is that the federal government can only spend 10% of GDP (currently in the 22 to 25% range). If states want something, it is up to them to secure it and raise taxes or shift money accordingly.

A component of my vision is that we repeal the 17th amendment and go back to having the senate be appointed by the state legislatures. The states are currently not represented in congress as was intended by the framers.

Lookin forward to your high I.Q. challenges or suggestions.

It is my belief as somebody who identifies as "Messianic Jewish" that perhaps my theology teachers may have gotten off into an extremely pessimistic and rather scary understanding of the Jewish and Christian scriptures.

I believe that Canadians and American amateur theologians can cooperate together to give our children and grandchildren the necessary intellectual background to at least understand the astonishingly encouraging and quite powerful case that can be presented from the Jewish and Christian Scriptures, as well as from near death experience accounts, [that I believe make the Jewish and Christian scriptures easier to understand than ever before in human history].

I personally take the one sentence statement to near death experiencer John J. Davis very seriously. This one sentence is so simple and so basic that I believe that the John J. Davis near death experience account is meant for all eight billion infinitely precious humans who walk this earth at this time.

I believe that a vastly more accurate understanding of the Jewish and Christian scriptures will emerge out of the USA and Canada. I believe that just as heaven itself has been reported as only having on religion, I believe that true Christians who are led by the Holy Spirit, are about to begin to cooperate and work together across denominational boundaries in a manner that will benefit all eight billion residents of this earth.

"The anger of the LORD will not turn back until he fully accomplishes the purposes of his heart. In days to come you will understand it clearly." [Jeremiah 23:20]

Wildflower Meadow

Here’s the last part of my near-death experience. My guide took me to what I can only describe as an absolutely beautiful meadow. There were rolling hills, beautiful flowers, green grass. It was a perfect day.

And then my guide left. I thought I was standing there by myself, and then, all of a sudden, a man showed up in front of me. Nobody told me it was him; I just knew that it was Jesus. He was different from everyone else. I could see his hands, and I could see his feet. I could see what he was wearing. He had a white robe on with a golden sash around his waist, and he had gold-colored sandals that laced up his calves, but he was so bright I couldn’t make out his facial features. Jesus had so much energy and so much light that was pouring out of him.

He said something to me, and it is something I have tried to do my entire life since then. It was like my assignment somehow. Jesus said, “You must tell them there is no death.”

Right after he said those words, I immediately woke up back in the hospital room. I asked the surgeon what happened, and he said, “We lost you. You were gone for seven minutes.”

Maybe just coming to the reality that No one can have everything their own way.
Just like every day life. We have to give a little to get a fairer share of what we want.

609,000 troops in army are more respectable.

452,000 troops in today's army.

I don't have a vision 'for' America. I have a vision 'of' America.

America has played out its purpose. I see nothing but civil war on the horizon.

The divisions are too great to overcome. The racial issues are too great to overcome.

Nothing but chaos and war on the horizon.

I believe God's purpose for America has been fulfilled. It was a sanctuary nation for the oppressed, for the Jews and the Christians to live in peace and for the spread of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

My opinion.
