Since we in America have held that “all men are created equal,” I guess INequality assumes a bad name. However, I believe that’s just a failure to grasp what those words actually mean.

It makes reference to the fact that we are and should be possessors of equality off rights. It doesn’t mean that I can shoot baskets or shoot pool like the pros. It doesn’t mean I can grasp quantum physics like some brilliant scientists.

It doesn’t mean that, just because some guy is a computer genius and I’m not, I shouldn’t be allowed to drive or vote.

In terms of income, I did ok before I retired. But if some women went to Med school and became terrific surgeons, I’m ok with the fact that our income wasn’t equal.

The question then boils down to “in what way(s) are we anything but equal?” We may be equal in many regards. But we don’t have to be in terms of income or wealth.

Median income is deceptive, and it doesn't tell the number of people who are far below the median. There are Asian ethnic groups in America living in dire poverty. There is no similarity in economic development between the peoples of East Asia and the people of the Middle East (“west Asia” I guess)

Similarly, it makes no sense to lump North Africans (Arabs) with sub Saharan Africans (black Africans). The gulf between the is too vast to simply say “they’re all Africans”

I agree with your first paragraph. Actually there is no sub-Saharan Africa. Many Africans get pissed when that is said. That was a term made up by Europeans. There have been African nations above the Sahara called sub-Saharan. At one tine South Afric was not considered sub-Saharan. There are also black Arabs.

Singapore, for instance, wouldn't be much of a 'Little Tiger' if it hadn't been a British colony beforehand, neither would Hong Kong, and certainly not India. There was no 'India' before the East India Company united the sub-continent, which is why there are so many Hindu anglophiles there, for instance; they fit very well into American and British society and cultures. The Spanish and French colonies don't fare nearly as well as the former British colonies.
