Well take a look at it this way, would you be allowed to talk like this and expect to keep your job? Also, didn't it occur to you that the same kind of people who celebrate Kirk's death want us dead?

Since I have been self employed for 45 years and am currently retired, I can only answer based on work as a Psychiatric Case Worker who also attempted to treat suicidal individuals.

Naturally, I considered what I said to someone with a 12 gauge shotgun in their mouth very carefully but that is perhaps a rather extreme case in which saying something stupid is ill advised.

During my brief time as an English/ German literature and language teacher, I would not have expected to keep my job after saying something repulsive or insulting.

When I later worked as Case Worker in the Juvenile Justice system I was only mildly scolded for losing my temper with an abusive parent for their especially cruel treatment of a juvenile directly under my care.

Among the concerns I have about repressing verbal expression is the inability of people to " blow off steam".
Repressed anger is going to come out somehow and I would much prefer verbal venting over physical violence.
