You must have visited the one in Chapel Hill...While something at the China Buffet might be giving you headaches or gastric distress, it's not the MSG.
It is just that.Seems very generic and a broad range of tastes can be described as savory.
Use MSG seasoning and find out, all I can describe is that on a tomato in a steak hoagie and on the steak uplifts and seperates the flavor profile seemingly enhancing your tomato so you can taste it out of the mix of items then taste the beef flavor enhanced as well.I had always heard the term Savory to mean flavorful.
Now it seems to refer to a specific taste.
I understand spicy, sweet, salty, tart, bitter……but what would Savory taste like?
