Zone1 What is Roman Catholicism ??

They embraced the form of religion instead of God. That's you.
Oh, we are a the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We even did as Jesus said to. Do all things in his name. Not only do we pray to the Father in Jesus name, all ordinances are also done in His name too. And, something the RCC forgot to do and had every opportunity for the last 1700 years to do it, name the church in His name. Didn’t do it. So, the RCC has no claim to God’s authority and is in a state of full apostasy.

What scripture?
Acts 9:10-15

There was a disciple in Damascus named Ananias, and the Lord said to him in a vision, “Ananias.” He answered, “Here I am, Lord.”

The Lord said to him, “Get up and go to the street called Straight and ask at the house of Judas for a man from Tarsus named Saul. He is there praying, and [in a vision] he has seen a man named Ananias come in and lay [his] hands on him, that he may regain his sight.”

But Ananias replied, “Lord, I have heard from many sources about this man, what evil things he has done to your holy ones* in Jerusalem. And here he has authority from the chief priests to imprison all who call upon your name.”

But the Lord said to him, “Go, for this man is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name before Gentiles, kings, and Israelites...

Acts 22:21

Then he (the Lord) said to me (Paul), ‘Go, I shall send you far away to the Gentiles.’”

Galatians 2:7-9

7 On the contrary, when they saw that I had been entrusted with the gospel to the uncircumcised, just as Peter to the circumcised, for the one who worked in Peter for an apostolate to the circumcised worked also in me for the Gentiles, and when they recognized the grace bestowed upon me, James and Cephas and John, who were reputed to be pillars, gave me and Barnabas their right hands in partnership, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.

And, something the RCC forgot to do and had every opportunity for the last 1700 years to do it, name the church in His name. Didn’t do it. So, the RCC has no claim to God’s authority and is in a state of full apostasy.
Who--and in whose name--has the Catholic Church always proclaimed since the beginning and still proclaims today?

Mormons, on the other hand, from their beginning proclaimed the church of Joseph Smith and his latter day saints, and their gospel (Book of Mormon) which differs from the Bible. Their only option, to gain and keep their own following, was/is to declare the early Christian Church in apostasy. Shrug.

For anyone to declare any of the Abrahamic faiths outside the authority of God is a dangerous, blasphemous tact...so have a care.

The Thiaoouba Prophecy is an interesting one .
There it is stated that there were two Jesus entities .

One, the OK Essene and the other who was from the Golden Planet who entered him when there were miracles to perform etc
Which Jesus the Man could not do , being a spiritual person but insufficiently enlightened .

Much more likely .
And again , underlining the recent findings in the new cave at Qumran , all writings show that Jesus denied being the Son of God and believed that God ( Universe) lies inside the body and is what we refer to as the Soul -- another two "body" thought .
And that the soul can communicate with Universe mainly as a result of prayer and meditation .

Yes. History. History recorded Paul's contribution to Christianity. It's called EVIDENCE.

Saint Paul, also known as Paul the Apostle, was a pivotal figure in the early development of Christianity. He is renowned for his missionary work, theological writings, and impact on shaping Christian doctrine. His letters, which form a significant part of the New Testament, address fundamental Christian beliefs and practices, influencing the faith's development and spread.

Key Contributions:
  • Missionary Activity:
Paul's missionary journeys throughout the Roman Empire played a crucial role in spreading Christianity beyond its Jewish origins. He established numerous Christian communities in Asia Minor and Europe.

  • Theological Contributions:
Paul's letters, like 1 Corinthians and Romans, offer profound insights into Christian theology, particularly concerning the relationship between God the Father and Jesus, and the human relationship with the divine.

  • Gentile Inclusion:
Paul championed the inclusion of Gentiles (non-Jews) in Christianity, arguing that salvation was available through faith in Jesus, not through adherence to Jewish law. This stance was crucial in transforming Christianity into a global religion.

  • Foundational Letters:
Paul's letters, such as those to the Romans, Corinthians, Galatians, and Philippians, address various aspects of Christian life, doctrine, and practice, providing guidance and structure to early Christian communities.

  • Early Church Organization:
Paul's letters also offer glimpses into the structure and organization of early Christian churches, including the roles of different leaders and the importance of communal life.

  • Moral Teachings:
Paul's writings contain moral guidelines on issues such as sexual conduct, marriage, and obedience to secular authorities, influencing Christian ethics and morality.
In essence, Paul's contributions can be summarized as:
  • Expanding Christianity:
He brought the message of Jesus to new regions and cultures, fostering its growth beyond its Jewish roots.

  • Developing Theology:
He articulated core Christian doctrines, providing a framework for understanding faith and practice.

  • Shaping Church Life:
He established structures and provided guidance for early Christian communities.

  • Moral Guidance:
He offered principles for Christian living, shaping the ethical landscape of the faith.

I'm sure you do see it that way. That is a textbook example of worshipping the form of religion though.

That’s the way it usually is by definition. Same with all the prophets of the OT. Since prophets are apostles by definition, receiving direction directly from God, then Paul fits perfectly. Peter accepted him as well.
All someone has to do is claim a vision to be an apostle? What if someone today said that?

Acts was not written by Luke and modern scholarship says it was written by an unknown person at 80-90 AD, which was 50-60 years after Jesus died.

History doesn't record anything. Humans do. What some unknown human writes 40-50-60-100 years later is not evidence. Where do you get this stuff from?

You'd get quite helpful revelations that were relevant to your present life if you learned how to be receptive to guidance from the Holy Spirit. Unfortunately, some people prefer conflict to peace though.

Semantics. My point remains.

Where did I get it from? A quick google search. Because it's been recorded in history.

Why does this matter? The author (known as Luke) was a companion of Paul. Note that Galatians (written by Paul) was written in about 48.

So, lemme get this straight and learn from an engineer turned Catholic. What are/were the requirements back in the day for someone to be considered an apostle since at least one of them claimed to be an apostle AFTER Jesus died and never met him? Is there any time limit? As I understand it the book you call "history' and "evidence" is just the claims of the person that he was an apostle and had visions. Since his alleged visions were after Jesus died does that mean anyone including engineers today can be an apostle and have visions and not verify them or have anyone else do so and be part of that history book?

No idea. They are who they are and history has recorded it. But you keep seeking strife and conflict. What could possibly go wrong with that?

The bible is not a history book or evidence of anything.
Actually parts of it are. The definition of history is the whole series of past events connected with someone or something. By that definition everything and everyone has a history. Your history is the story of your life.

Certain parts of the Bible are generally accepted as historically accurate, while others are considered more symbolic or legendary. Many secular scholars and historians agree on the historicity of specific figures and events, particularly those from the later Old Testament and the New Testament.

Evidence for Historicity:
  • Specific Figures and Events:
Many historians and archaeologists accept the existence of figures like the Herods, Pontius Pilate, and the siege of Jerusalem in 597 BCE as historically accurate.

  • Corroborating Evidence:
Some parts of the Bible are supported by extra-biblical sources like ancient writings, inscriptions, and archaeological findings. For example, the Pool of Siloam, mentioned in John chapter 9, has been identified archaeologically.

  • Archaeological Findings:
Archaeological discoveries have confirmed the existence of places, structures, and even some details mentioned in the Bible.

  • Geographic Accuracy:
The Bible's geographical descriptions have been found to be accurate in many instances.
Parts of the Bible with Historical Challenges:
  • Early Genesis (Creation, Flood, Tower of Babel):
Many scholars, including some within religious traditions, view these accounts as symbolic or allegorical rather than literal historical narratives.

  • Certain Narratives:
Some biblical narratives, particularly those from earlier periods, may contain elements of folklore, myth, or legend alongside historical details.

  • Anachronisms and Contradictions:
There are instances in the Bible where historical details seem to contradict each other or are inconsistent with what is known from other sources.
Overall:
The Bible is a complex collection of writings with diverse literary genres, including historical narrative, poetry, prophecy, and legal codes. While some parts are widely accepted as historically accurate, others require careful interpretation and may not be intended to be read as literal history.
