If I had entered a thread discussing some aspect of the Jewish faith and started saying things like the God of Abraham is cruel and punitive like the Jews who created him or talking about Jewish violence or Jewish persecution of the Palestinians what would your response be?

the Christian God is cruel and punitive like the men who created him

If your intention was to have a thoughtful discussion on the differences in our beliefs, that's no way to go about it.

A God who used hell and eternal suffering to force obedience is punitive and cruel by definition. Perhaps you can explain how a threat isnt punitive and cruel. It also shows intolerance for other beliefs. None of that is godlike. Its cruel primitive man posing as god
