What is “Judge” Merchan thinking and . . .

. . . What will he do?

Reuters claims all Trump’s cases will be “brought to a halt.

Yet Trump has a sentencing date this month and it’s up to the European-looking Merchan to decide what to do.

I have no doubt that if this election were very close, if Trump won by hair, Merchan would have been pressured to sentence Trump to something in order to give this Democrats Senate a reason not to confirm him.

But with this effective landslide, what is merchan to do?

That piece of shit legal travesty is so full of holes, last minute law changes and misapplied
Context that Merchan should fear Federal prosecution for even allowing it to be heard. THATS WHY ITS BEING TOSSED.

Merchan orders trump to appear for sentencing on Jan. 10.

I'll provide the link, since you were too wee-wee'd up to do it.

Now, it's time for Trump to stop humoring that Canadian-looking psuedo-jurist and simply ignore this order.

Who will enforce the judge's will? His bailiff?

Merchan said a sentence of unconditional discharge “appears to be the most viable solution to ensure finality and allow Defendant to pursue his appellate options.” Under New York law, a sentence of unconditional discharge is one imposed without imprisonment, fine or probation.

So, Merchan is trying to save face by offering to sentence Trump to nothing at all as long as he shows up to be sentenced.

If I were Trump, I'd say "throw in kissing my ass in open court, and I'll consider your deal."

So will Trump show up? I would not.

I'm curious if Trump's lawyers are advising him to show up out of respect for the judicial system to get the sentence dismissed.

If I were Trump I would want to get all 34 felonies removed, and not "guilty but no jail time".

Landslide?

too funny

Trump could not even get 50% of the vote. An electoral landslide does not translate into a mandate by the people. And as a matter of fact, previous presidents won the ec tally by far much more than Trump did. :auiqs.jpg:

popular vote. Trump is still unpopular. Can't even pass the 50% mark

Trump columns Opponents
... 46.1% ... 48.2% - 2016

... 46.8% ... 51.3% - 2020

... 49.9% ... 48.4% - 2024

Judge Merchan didn't concern himself with other legal cases (criminal ones), against Trump. He is a sitting Judge in a NY state court.

Nothing sane to add about the fact that your boy tried a coup against the American people & got away with it?

You're in a cult.
Unarmed protestors are protected by the 1st amendment.
Since the inauguration was 2 weeks away, there is no way anyone could possibly claim there was any attempt to interfere with the transfer of power.

If there was an attempted coup, where was the regular military standing by to go in with gun's a blazin?

I don't recall any tanks or platoons of regular military on scene to defend the capitol.
