ISIS is controlled by an agenda beyond them, that will use them for religious sector instability that eventually will highlight the Israel and Christendom "crusade" for that unique sector and global scale of the religious strata of destabilization.

Of course that keeps ALL emotionally drawn into this also distracted from the intended outcome of the "victorious" stabilization that it will lead to many years from now, to highlight the "world government" "solution" to all these religious ills being in time removed by force of globalized military.

The Russia and China BRICS destabilization in the political and national strata is the greater context it will in time support as the world is an a truly unique scale and global scope of a multi-dimensional nation-state upheaval to be exacerbated by financial destabilization at previously unheard of levels.

As a whole the biggest global "problem" of all time is being set up for the biggest global "solution" to come when the cycle is stabilized in the new world order of world government. It is all a divide and conquer, conquer and re-unite set-up of the psychology preparation to accept world government as a necessary "solution" at truly global scale, all the nations will join that a number of years from final cycle going truly full blown.

Those who panic get trapped first, it is mostly to be psychological fueled by these various conflicts in all realms of nation-state function and interaction, religious, political-military, and financial. It is not "the end" they want people to expect, it is the final cycle to birth world government in full in a global recovery and eventual world "peace and security" by definition of that world government.

ISIS is just a controlled new "Bogey Man" from the same Islamic Jihad versus Christain/Israel global "crusade" sector of mass destabilization that is going to get far worse in time= GWOT 2.0 and Cold War 2.0 to heat up, in time, imo.
The US government didn't learn from any of the mistakes of the colonial empires that came before it, and has already repeated most of them.

They are dead set on war in the Middle East yet again, and it is what the weapons companies wanted all along - a conflict more destructive and devastating than Iraq and Afghanistan combined.

On the other front, America is doing its best to push NATO to war with Russia in Ukraine, totally oblivious to the fact that sanctioning Russia and attempting to push it to breaking point only makes Russian determination in Russia stronger.

Most Russians already see Ukraine as a fight against Nazism or Fascism, which is 'funded and supported' by the west. America has done its best to inflame tensions, while pretending to be calming them.

Hopefully cooler heads will prevail, in the next few months or years. But till then, it is a political chorus of war mongers in Washington, with their pockets sagged down by blood money from weapons companies. Yet again, Americans have been duped like they were in Vietnam, and the Middle East is no different, nor is Ukraine.

Yep, short-memory syndrome. It is very effective, every "new memory" needs a "new phantom enemy".

Except America's 'enemies' don't forget, and adding nations or groups to the war wish list doesn't bode well for the future. Putin dislikes and distrusts America, where before he liked it and occasionally distrusted it.

When we have to go begging to Iran, it shows how desperate and short of support the US really is ever since we lost Egypt and others as allies. That's what years of snubbing and offending countries does, makes them renege rather than commit as much as they might have in the past.

I think the OP asks one helluva question. Maybe you start with figuring out who & what they are, and what resources they have at their disposal.

They appear to be pure zealots and sociopaths, they're driven, motivated, animated by a fundamentalist view of their religion, they have procured access to significant ongoing funding, and they have the ability to attract like-minded zealots and sociopaths from all over the world.

My best wild-ass guess is that their overall mindset is the same as most zealots and sociopaths, and that is that they have convinced themselves that they alone know The Truth, and that their god has not only provided them license to do whatever it takes to create a world based on that Truth, but will see to it that they win. Since they have had some success, I suspect that they're sure their god has provided them that success.

So I guess they're fulfilling (what they have convinced themselves is) their duty from the Koran.

To add to the discussion, here's piece that says the overall goal of ISIS is essentially to hasten the Apocalypse as described in the Koran. Lovely:

What ISIS Really Wants - The Atlantic

I'd guess that would involve causing as much destruction and anarchy as possible without worrying about your own losses. Pure unbridled zealotry, combined with financial and military resources. Scary.

ISIS is hoping Americans are stupid enough to send boots on the ground again so they can be made common targets by everyone in the ME.

And America, under a Republican administration, would give ISIS just that.

And Obama is right now... It will be Obamas war....and likely the only thing he will have done which I consider honorable

The good doctor nails it:

Make no mistake about the seriousness of the threat posed by the Islamic State, says Charles Krauthammer. In the wake of the murders of 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians, “[ISIS] is not just Islamic radicalism anymore, or Islamic terrorism, which is only a tactic. This is really Islamist supremacy. And in that sense, it is akin to Nazism. That was racial supremacy; here it’s Islamist.”

“The ideology of ISIS is clearly supremacist,” said Krauthammer on Monday’s Special Report, “in the sense that anybody who is not Islamic in their understanding is to be either enslaved or eradicated. This is a genocidal movement. You kill Christians, you kill Jews, you kill Yazidis (but you may in certain circumstances enslave them). That’s what we’re up against, and we have an administration that will not even admit that there’s a religious basis underlying what’s going on.”...[/i[

Very interesting article. Preparing for the end of times and centered on Syria in their prophecy. Which might be why they have such a hard on for Syria. To fulfill the prophecy and the end of times.

That they believe they are the true religion and that the modern religion is wrong. The ritual killings are for honoring the Koran, and that it is required by the Koran.

I've read some of those versus and the history of Mohammed and they are trying to relive those times.

Thanks for the article.
