If the government cant survive on 15% then maybe its time reexamine the role of government and ask whom does the government serve and whom controls the government. State income taxes should be <8%. Combined federal, state, property, and income tax rates should not exceed 25% of what one makes. Estate taxes should be abolished for it is both unethical and criminal to tax ones earnings, income from savings, and then the fruit of ones thrift. corporate taxes reduced to 15%. Make it simple, do away with the special interest groups once and for all. In short you make $40,000.00 a year the fed gets $6,000, state gets less then $2,720 after federal. The rich man that makes $120,000.00, owes $18,000 federal, state gets $8,160 after federal. Retain depreciation schedules, and investment tax credits. Remove the social security earned income cap. The problem is very few have skin in the game and yet they exercise the power to tax minority. As Alexis De Tocqueville so eloquently pointed out without a vested interest the universal rights of the whole will be compromised.
