I think we should stick with scripture instead of modern day prophets.. and it would help to study the history of the time so we understand the symbolism. People in the first century understood it quite well.

You don't believe in the Scriptures Margo, we've already established that.

Most prophecy was written after the fact. That's why the texts were redacted and amended. Be wary of con men who use your faith for political reasons.

You look completely asinine when you post this crap. Prophecy" cannot by definition written "after the fact". You truly are a detestable person.

prophecy

the foretelling or prediction of what is to come.

Study Vaticinium Ex Eventu.

No need. You twist it to fit what you want to believe. If you admit the truth about Prophecy you are then forced to admit that there is some truth to "futurism" and THAT would destroy the world view you've so carefully crafted to make you feel in control of a God, of a Bible of possibilities that terrify you.

Did you read the text?
Up until this part:

The Book of Ezra, for example, is another revelation written by a Jewish prophet — not a follower of Jesus — but very similar to John's in many ways and very grieved about the Roman Empire and concerned about the question of God's justice.

Ezra had no inkling of any Roman empire.

OMG you're dead right. I should have caught that. Thanks.
