While, there probably would be more inhumane actions, less freedom, and some groups would tragically disappear.

Let me tell you what I understand. Germany attacked Poland and Poland surrendered after a pathetic three week resistance. Britain declared war as a result. Even after every European ally was defeated Britain fought on until the US entered the war and turned the tide.
