I'm not a climatologist nor have I claimed to be, though I am well versed in the sciences and I have a good grasp of chaos and statistics. My insults are directed at the anti-intellectual movement. A growing tendency to dismiss common sense and instead embrace conspiracy fantasies like "vaccines cause autism".

It's fine to be skeptical but the emphatic denial and ridiculing by people who are frankly dingbats, is going to destroy society.

People are already acting odd, happy to believe some claim for no other reason than it fits in with some deeply cherished belief. Take the 2020 election deniers or climate change deniers or vaccine deniers, these are all different aspects of the same underlying stupidity.

Truth is no longer valued or respected, its becoming a free for all where people just choose a belief and embrace it, this is little different to witch doctors or shamans or alchemy - we're going backwards, back to primitive intellectual feudalism.
