Mormons believe in a Second Coming but not a rapture.
I'm a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and I believe that at the second coming of Christ the righteous will be lifted up in the clouds to meet Jesus. See post #19 above. We don't use the word "rapture" but we do believe that the righteous in Jesus will be lifted up at his coming into the clouds to meet him. We do not however believe in a pre-trib rapture but only at the time Jesus comes.

Your church does not believe in the Rapture as doctrine, and you know it. You may, though.

Here is something from the church website responding to whether we believe in the rapture:

"
Do Latter-day Saints believe in the rapture?
Although the term “the Rapture” is never specifically used in the Bible, many Christians use the term to refer to the verses in the New Testament that describe the righteous being swept up to meet Jesus when He returns during the Second Coming. In modern times, some have used the term to describe the belief that the righteous followers of Christ will be removed from the earth prior to the tribulations that the Bible teaches will precede the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

In The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the term “rapture” is not generally used, nor do we believe that the righteous will be removed from the earth prior to the period of tribulation that will precede Jesus Christ’s return. Instead, we teach that those who have faith and follow God’s commandments need not fear these tribulations, as they will have the power of the Holy Ghost to comfort and guide them through the challenging times that will lead up to Jesus Christ’s joyous Second Coming."

So, define rapture! We do not believe in a pretribulation rapture as described above. However, we do believe that at the second coming of Jesus Christ, the righteous will be swept up in the clouds to meet Jesus. I equate this occurrence with what others deem as "the rapture". The Church website's explanation matches with what I have explained in my posts so far. So now it is your turn. Go to the church's website and find me quotes saying that we do not believe in the rapture. Yes, we don't believe in a pretribulation rapture but we do believe in a post tribulation rapture.

The idea of Rapture comes again and again.

Some say that most Christians believe in it.

I doubt it.

So here is a poll now.
I don’t think about it. It seems like a waste of time for me.

If you're referring to me, I'm not JW, not Mormon, not Catholic, and not Protestant.

I'm a BIBLE BELIEVING Christian taught at the feet of Jesus Christ -- not Man
How old do you believe the earth is?

Most Christians do, it's the timing that gets in the way.

No, you are definitely being taught by a man. In fact, he’s a former Catholic priest, right? An apostate, right?

the rapture is not mentioned in the bible...end of debate

the idea comes about in the late 1800's

The word for "Rapture" indeed is not used. However the correct word is Parousia.

"
Parousia (παρουσία) is a Greek word meaning "presence," "arrival," or "coming after absence". In a theological context, it specifically refers to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ to Earth to judge humanity at the end of the world. The concept of parousia is a central tenet of Christian eschatology, which describes the end times, though the term is sometimes used more broadly to refer to any arrival or presence.

Never heard of Parousia
A king's return to the capital would have been a parousia, for example. Servants and dignitaries would meet him at the city gates to welcome him home.

Christ's parousia was likewise such a coming at the end of the age.

It was no rapture, or "taking up" of the church. That nonsense didn't really begin until 1830 when a Scottish teenager claimed she saw such an event in a dream.

Rapture is in the Bible. (1 Thess. 4:17). "caught up". Translated in the Greek as 'harpazo' maning to snatch up. The Latin translated the Greek as 'rapia' meaning to seize or snatch. Which is where the word Rapture comes from.

And yes, I do hold to the belief that the Church will be raptured out of the earth which will begin the 7 year Tribulation period.
