There's one huge problem here... Clinton did not leave Bush a surplus. And btw.... Obama has added more to the debt than all his predecessors.. combined.

And yes he did leave him a projected surplus. If spending remained and if taxes coming in remained the same, Bush would have a surplus. But NOTHING stayed the same. Bush gave the rich tax breaks. Strike 1. Lied us into 2 wars. Strike 2. Let illegals flood in to compete with American workers for "jobs Americans won't do". Strike 3. Sent all the good paying union manufacturing jobs overseas. Sorry but I am not a Republican so your little rant was wasted on me. The Republicans are too Liberal and at the end of the day are not that much different from the Democrats. Both parties promote big government and the welfare state.

However, just to comment on your post the economy was doing OK (relatively) under Bush until the 2006 Democrat Congress was elected and then it went to hell in a handbasket. Despite the trillion dollar hit from 911 the economy grew some and the annual debt was much lower than now,taxes were lower and real unemployment (not this made up shit by Obama) was better. Of course that all changed when those dumbass Democrats got elected. What the hell were the American thinking electing those bozos? They made a big enough mistake with the Republicans but made it worse with the Democrats.
