There are extremists in ALL religions. In the Philippines, some Christians re-enact the Passion - including having themselves nailed to a cross - and sometimes one of them dies as a result of their injuries.

I just don't see any reason to denigrate all of Shi'a, or all of Islam, over the actions of one splinter faction of one sect. That is far too much like pretending that Neturei Karta actually represents 'normative' Judaism - or suggesting that all Christians harbor the desire to ride down people in the streets screaming "Deus Vult!" as they slash them with swords and stab them with lances. Or that all Hindus are 'thugs', hopped up on drugs and killing for Kali......

try to be honest SHAAR-----the ashoura proscriptions are a manifestation of
SUNNI OPPRESSION OF SHIITES -------try a bit of honesty----you will not melt.

The same sunnis who laugh and mock and FORBID shiite rituals-----encourage
their own daughters to tie bombs to their SLUTTY asses in order to murder
shiite children-------(of course ---jewish children too----but that goes with out 'saying')

I am inspired to tell my SHIITE story->>>

One of the first muslims I knew well was a young doc from NEW DEHLI--india.
----very much an avid MUSLIM-----One day he, very proudly, showed me a
scar on his scalp-----and---said something about a religious ritual which flew
rignt over my head. -------some time later----another young doc----pakistani
told me about "CRAZY" people in pakistan who beat themselves up
with whips and cut themselves on some holiday of theirs. Flower child that I
was ----I commented----"well that's their religion----so?" I was an observant
kid------I noticed almost IMMEDIATELY that pakistanis HATED iranians
------I had no idea why. I noticed that the young indian from New Dehli---
tried DESPERATELY to be good friends with the Iranians----to their disdain.

NATURALLY----jew that I am----I sympathized with the disdained
peole called "crazy"-----they seemed to be victims ----(well---that was
my perception back then) It took me years to gain an understanding
of the SUNNI SHIITE thing-------which ----looking back is a good thing
for a true understanding-------I got without any preconceived notions

In the world today-----the shiite/sunni rift-----which commenced even before the
carcass of al nabi was cold----REMAINS a very important force
