Glad I did not have to shovel, that stuff was heavy.....6" of snow compressed to 3" by 4" of sleet! I've never seen such a sleet storm before....At least we avoided the freezing rain.

The good thing was the compressed layer was still real loose so the snow blower made slow but short work of it.

The 4-wheeler w/plow made fairly short work of the 4' the town put in front of the driveways. Even getting some melting on the cleared surfaces now as I have have Southern exposure on the driveways. Still cold, 22 degrees.

I swear though, even with the convivences I put in place to move snow it gets harder every year....Small wonder older folks move from the snow belt to warmer climes.

Nice. I only had 4–5 inches of snow, to begin with. That was the powder, that would be great for skiing. I blew that off, to clean driveway twice Saturday, with ease, using nothing but a 250mph corded leaf blower. Sleet, then Freezing Rain came Saturday night and Sunday. It is still there, but only about an inch, frozen solid. I drove out on it, this morning. You could hardly see indentations of tire tracks when I backed, back in. It won't be even above 18 today. Since causing no problem, will leave it. Events like this are so rare, I cannot justify storing an actual snow blower or plow. Some places, (probably like yours), it's common enough, people keep both, same as law mowers, but not here.

Yeah, that's why when I heard the weather people say "get at it early" I thought this must not have been their first sleet rodeo. ;)

I also got lucky because about the time I got done the wind started kicking from the WNW at 20 MPH.

It's powder here. Easier to shovel yes but the wind comes along and moves it right back where it started. Good news is there is very little wind right now. All my buddies are ice fishing right now. I am stuck doing continuing Ed. Not to happy about it either.

.

None here, but still going to struggle with temps well below zero, until at least Sunday.

We ended up with thirteen inches. But then two and three foot deep snow drifts because of all of the wind. A couple of em I had to shovel.

By the time I got to the end of the main driveway I had a pile of snow on each side that came up to my neck and I'm over six feet tall.

Then the plow came through the development. Guess they waited until the storm was almost over to plow.

So then had to shovel all of that shit out after the son of a ***** plowed me back in. That was about two feet deep, too, and all hard and chunky.

Haven't touched my secondary driveway yet. I imagine that's likely frozen over on the top now. Last few hours we got sleet on top of the snow.

I had three county cops get stuck in front of my house last night when I was out there. Apparently one of the elders a few houses down the street had an emergency and the cops and fire truck/paramedics showed up.

Then the guy plowed the cops in, all three of em. So helped shovel them out because they weren't going anywhere after the paramedics left. We had four shovels going.

This stuff's likely gonna stick around well into February just because it's gonna be below freezing for quite a while still.

Not sure it ever got that windy here. I have been in blizzard in Kentucky, while in AIT, where the wind and cold polished and froze the surface, where if careful combat boot didn't break through, though the snow was 2 1/2 to 3 plus foot deep. We weren't worried about digging out. In the evenings, they followed by example of digging down to place shelter halves, using the snow to insulate from the mind 14 winds.

The wife and I went out and shoveled every hour to stay ahead of it, and this morning was the deepest that needed to be shoveled. Other than the accumulation on the cars, it wasn't as bad I feared.

We did end up with 13 inches total, however.

LOL.....The old "Mad Max" plow driver. ;)

Just checked.....The snow is pretty much gone from my driveways now.....Southern Exposure on asphalt will do it's job if I do mine.

The guy across the street with his steep-ass driveway will be lucky if his is snow/ice free by March. He's got a 4X4 Quad with a plow but it really does not do him much good.

Being on the side of the sun does help out quite a bit with the asphalt. Both my driveways are on the shade side, though. kind of sucks but just is what it is.

We're supposed to get another 10 inches or so next week. Oughtta be a hoot.

I've got a lot of stuff on my plate at the moment, but once that has passed, and hopefully it does, I'm so outta this area. lol. Relocating to some place that's warm all of the time.

That's the way to do it. Going out there every hour or so makes it a whole lot easier to stay ahead of it that way, for sure.
