If you didn't know, welfare strongly encourages women to get rid of their husbands. If they do get rid of the men in their lives, they collect a lot more money.

Many say this has broken families, particularly minority families, apart, leading to things like higher crime and dropping out of school, teen pregnancy, etc.

A father can make a difference in a family.

So why don't we pay welfare families more money if there is a father in the home?

How about we pay the same whether the father is present of not?

Say $500 a month and that's it whether you have one kid or thirteen.

Could you put in more money if both were made seedless. And a bonus for a partial birth abortion?

Otis Mayfield I've heard worse ideas. There would be rampant cheating as fake "Fathers" show up only when the welfare agents are there. But anything that brings absentee Fathers back into homes is worth a try. Thanks for posting this and acknowledging the intentional destruction of the nuclear family by LBJ's welfare program.

Welfare family is not the only family with dad missing. How many father's are choked by child support and never get to see their kids? Do not know how to fix it but ya family is strong we with both mom and dad at home.

How about we just get rid of welfare?

The estimated aggregate cost of the War on Poverty is nearly $28 trillion, which is three and a half times higher than the $8 trillion total price tag of every major war since the American Revolution.

Back in the 1990's you got welfare for two years and then it was cut off, you either worked or got an education, because you were no longer paid to sit on your lazy liberal ass. But then along came the brown turd Obammy who got rid of the law that Bill Clinton signed, and it was back to basement welfare queens and queers again. You can thank the turd for that one.

My old man was a drunk and liked to beat his family how was this beneficial to the family unit?

Those kids needs to git a job! Right along with the elderly and disabled.

24 million children use welfare every month.

(Urban Institute)

Children make up the biggest percentage of welfare beneficiaries. An examination of the demographics of welfare recipients reveals that those under the age of 18 account for 41% of all welfare users. Meanwhile, people aged between 18 and 64 account for 50% of the recipients. Seniors (65 and older) account for just 12% of the population on welfare.
