Welcome to the resistance? Mitch McConnell bucks Trump with ‘no’ votes

Democrats heap praise on their former foe, while his GOP colleagues express disappointment.

This reminds me. Reminds of when I have made statements regarding Mitch McConnell, praising his skills. I've done the same with Justice Clarence Thomas (informed by reading of people like Jeffrey Rosen and others), and some others with whom I am politically opposed to. and or even ideologically opposed to. Give credit where it is due. Keeping any inadvertent demonization at a minimum (maybe personal attacks, but attacks on skills and results).

As many of his colleagues have swallowed their concerns about these nominees’ backgrounds or policy positions, McConnell has silently and with little fanfare voted against them — refusing to even meet with the candidates one on one before doing so.
“The Senate’s power of advice and consent is not an option; it is an obligation, and one we cannot pretend to misunderstand,” McConnell said in his statement Wednesday. “When a nominee’s record proves them unworthy of the highest public trust, and when their command of relevant policy falls short of the requirements of their office, the Senate should withhold its consent.”
I've long praised Mitch as a superb tactician as well as a superb strategist. Most successful politicians, advisors, managers, strategists, and leaders are either one or the other. Not both.

Mitch is a sellout. He cares more about his bank account and his wife’s bank account.

He needs to be kicked to the curb. Better off with a Dem than that moron.

Let's revisit, it was Mitch McConnell who took a giant shit on the Tea Party reps who gave them back control of congress. The guy is a turncoat of the first order.

It's expected from Mitch, Collins, and Murkowski. Don't ask surprised.

Oh.
Did he heal from his last fall?

The OP obviously doesn't know what a RINO is. I seem to recall that poster's threads as mostly being retarded.
Mitch is an inside man first and republican second... he fell down three times last week alone... Mitch is part of the reason we are 37 trillion dollars in Debt....
FOLKS - It's Official!

We have a House Troll Quorum.

McConnell gutless turncoat that he is, repeatedly surrendered to Democrats when we had the majority and the votes.

Senator McConnell was one of Trump's most effective supporters during his first term. He pushed all of Trump's judicial nominees, thus changing the tenor of the Supreme Court as well as many district and appeals courts in four short years, despite irrational hate and obstruction from Democrats.

The "advise and consent" bullshit is a relatively new phenomenon, even though it has been in the Constitution since 1789. Prior to George Bush 41 it was extremely rare for a nominee to be rejected by the Senate. The President is ENTITLED to have his own people run the EXECUTIVE departments. Even now, Republicans rarely make an issue of a Democrat cabinet nominee; all the bullshit is on the Democrat side.

As for McConnell, maybe he is suffering from Biden's Disease. I am reminded of John McCain, who also defied Trump due to childish personal pique.

A pox on both their houses.

The turtle hopped in the sack with Liz Cheney, eh. Good, that RINO won't be around much longer anyway.

Did you praise him for his masterful work in regards to Merrick Garland. That was praise worthy.
