Welcome to the resistance? Mitch McConnell bucks Trump with ‘no’ votes . Mitch as a superb tactician as well as a superb strategist.

So Tulsi is NOT DNI?

What did MM accomplish?

Trump won Kentucky by like 30 points.

Turtle disenfranchised the Kentucky voters.

Welcome to the resistance? Mitch McConnell bucks Trump with ‘no’ votes

Democrats heap praise on their former foe, while his GOP colleagues express disappointment.

This reminds me. Reminds of when I have made statements regarding Mitch McConnell, praising his skills. I've done the same with Justice Clarence Thomas (informed by reading of people like Jeffrey Rosen and others), and some others with whom I am politically opposed to. and or even ideologically opposed to. Give credit where it is due. Keeping any inadvertent demonization at a minimum (maybe personal attacks, but attacks on skills and results).

As many of his colleagues have swallowed their concerns about these nominees’ backgrounds or policy positions, McConnell has silently and with little fanfare voted against them — refusing to even meet with the candidates one on one before doing so.
“The Senate’s power of advice and consent is not an option; it is an obligation, and one we cannot pretend to misunderstand,” McConnell said in his statement Wednesday. “When a nominee’s record proves them unworthy of the highest public trust, and when their command of relevant policy falls short of the requirements of their office, the Senate should withhold its consent.”
I've long praised Mitch as a superb tactician as well as a superb strategist. Most successful politicians, advisors, managers, strategists, and leaders are either one or the other. Not both.
Ummmmmmmmmmm, his votes didn't count for anything. Trump won. Are you blind to that fact?

Mitch "Turtle" McConnell is on the exit ramp of his time in the Senate. If he doesn't hang it up he's going to be replaced and good riddance.

Senator McConnell was one of Trump's most effective supporters during his first term. He pushed all of Trump's judicial nominees, thus changing the tenor of the Supreme Court as well as many district and appeals courts in four short years, despite irrational hate and obstruction from Democrats.

The "advise and consent" bullshit is a relatively new phenomenon, even though it has been in the Constitution since 1789. Prior to George Bush 41 it was extremely rare for a nominee to be rejected by the Senate. The President is ENTITLED to have his own people run the EXECUTIVE departments. Even now, Republicans rarely make an issue of a Democrat cabinet nominee; all the bullshit is on the Democrat side.

As for McConnell, maybe he is suffering from Biden's Disease. I am reminded of John McCain, who also defied Trump due to childish personal pique.

A pox on both their houses.

You do know all of the TRUMP judicial nominees were picked from a McConnell approved list.

Where was the resistance at Tulsi?

and yet all the nominees that have been voted on have passed ! Chicom Mitch is on the way out of Congress .. and so are many of your leftist comrades ..

Tulsi got in today anyway ....

Trump's not making the same mistakes he made in 2017 when it comes to the department head picks...
Tap talented people who've been attacked by the same agencies they're heading well it's just good business ....

I would do the same thing

Mitch only goes so far. And you have to wonder if there are even more conservative judges who never got a shot. For the first time in my lifetime, we have a President who could point out all of the obstructors from his own party if he wanted to. And he actually set them up to show the world what they are when they speak and/or vote on people and legislation.

I was probably The biggest Mitch McConnell fan 20 years ago.
Always wrote glowingly about his somber yet effective political
style.I even visited weekly the Krogers in Louisville's Highlands
area.A nice place but loaded with way too many democrats.
I went to Louisville around twice a week for 25 years.
I stopped this practice about 5-6 years ago.I go maybe once
every 2 months now.The young adults are persnickety a-holes.
Since I'm a film buff I visited the best Video store in this
section of the U.S. That being Wild & Woolly. It closed it's doors
along with all the other video stores due to changes in
electronics.Like 8 track tapes being replaced by mini-cassettes
then CD's.McConnell was never one to be rah rah rabble rousing
pol.He was a former Judge in Jefferson County. But he was
cool, calm and dependable..Until Obama hit the scene.
Same with Congressman John Boehner. Then Paul Ryan.
Pols were allowing their heads to go south.Mitch McConnell
dint stand a chance.Plus a good Republican Congresswoman
Anne Northup of Louisville Lost a key election.Meaning to be
a Republican was not to be tolerated. That's is what Obama brought
to politics.A snarky,political uppityness.McConnell never stood a
chance but did survive. But was forced to bend to the Democrat
machine. All Louisville Mayors were Big Liberals. There was one
who was a good Mayor. But that wasn't enough. No wonder Mitch was the lone vote agin' Tulsi Gabard.
It was written on the wind ... all along.
Watchtower er Knowed.

Another idiot who thinks I'm a white woman.

Why deny it any more ?

Your beef in life is about Privilege and these days we all know that the one group with all of the privileges are black people .
And now to the extent that white men feel under privileged.

But it is we women who constantly draw the short straw nearly all of the time, and you are such an obsessive about missing privilege that you have to be part of the one group who are treated so badly ---white women .
Like me , Sister . Albeit an unpleasant thought .

This crew of clowns are going to fuck this country up.
The car full of clowns was the Cabinet that Joe Biden gave us for four years! Without a doubt the most inept group of people we've ever seen!
