Ummmmmmmmmmm, his votes didn't count for anything. Trump won. Are you blind to that fact?Welcome to the resistance? Mitch McConnell bucks Trump with ‘no’ votes
Democrats heap praise on their former foe, while his GOP colleagues express disappointment.
This reminds me. Reminds of when I have made statements regarding Mitch McConnell, praising his skills. I've done the same with Justice Clarence Thomas (informed by reading of people like Jeffrey Rosen and others), and some others with whom I am politically opposed to. and or even ideologically opposed to. Give credit where it is due. Keeping any inadvertent demonization at a minimum (maybe personal attacks, but attacks on skills and results).
As many of his colleagues have swallowed their concerns about these nominees’ backgrounds or policy positions, McConnell has silently and with little fanfare voted against them — refusing to even meet with the candidates one on one before doing so.“The Senate’s power of advice and consent is not an option; it is an obligation, and one we cannot pretend to misunderstand,” McConnell said in his statement Wednesday. “When a nominee’s record proves them unworthy of the highest public trust, and when their command of relevant policy falls short of the requirements of their office, the Senate should withhold its consent.”I've long praised Mitch as a superb tactician as well as a superb strategist. Most successful politicians, advisors, managers, strategists, and leaders are either one or the other. Not both.
Mitch "Turtle" McConnell is on the exit ramp of his time in the Senate. If he doesn't hang it up he's going to be replaced and good riddance.Welcome to the resistance? Mitch McConnell bucks Trump with ‘no’ votes

Senator McConnell was one of Trump's most effective supporters during his first term. He pushed all of Trump's judicial nominees, thus changing the tenor of the Supreme Court as well as many district and appeals courts in four short years, despite irrational hate and obstruction from Democrats.
The "advise and consent" bullshit is a relatively new phenomenon, even though it has been in the Constitution since 1789. Prior to George Bush 41 it was extremely rare for a nominee to be rejected by the Senate. The President is ENTITLED to have his own people run the EXECUTIVE departments. Even now, Republicans rarely make an issue of a Democrat cabinet nominee; all the bullshit is on the Democrat side.
As for McConnell, maybe he is suffering from Biden's Disease. I am reminded of John McCain, who also defied Trump due to childish personal pique.
A pox on both their houses.

Trump wasn't shot in the ear. A bullet grazed him. If he had been shot in his ear, he'd probably would be dead. Before you poke fun at that, go get shot in the ear first.
Dumbass.
This crew of clowns are going to fuck this country up.Tulsi got in today anyway ....
Trump's not making the same mistakes he made in 2017 when it comes to the department head picks...
Tap talented people who've been attacked by the same agencies they're heading well it's just good business ....
I would do the same thing
Too late you fat ass white b****** and your black slaves did one hell of a job already .....This crew of clowns are going to fuck this country up.
Another idiot who thinks I'm a white woman. This country was just fine and now Trump is going to fuck it up.Too late you fat ass white b****** and your black slaves did one hell of a job already .....
Mitch only goes so far. And you have to wonder if there are even more conservative judges who never got a shot. For the first time in my lifetime, we have a President who could point out all of the obstructors from his own party if he wanted to. And he actually set them up to show the world what they are when they speak and/or vote on people and legislation. You do know all of the TRUMP judicial nominees were picked from a McConnell approved list.
