With the implosion of economies all over the world. It has become clear that several weeks ago after the so called " bailout" that this crisis will NOT be diverted by "betting" on the good will of lenders to free up credit. The even bigger question is and I submit that the American system of govt. changed as we knew it that day. We are now oficially a socialist society, no matter who you vote for. The govt. has back-stopped the auto industry, the airline industry, and is now talking about nationalizing some banks. So you want free health care, I say whats the arguement about? You don't live in a non socialist society anymore, you want a free house, why not? Let the govt. buy it for you. The real issue here is even if it is McCain or Obama, they both will NOT change the direction that this country has now decided to go. With McCain proposing a 350 billion dollar home mortgage buy back and Obama's healthcare. The degree of seperation between the two is so small you need a crowbar to pry them apart.

I heard that ray and it goes to the point I am making and not that I don't apprecite the view presented on the picture, however I'm an old codger and those youngens are just that,they all looked liked kids to me. The point is when the govt. even suggests to begin to nationalize banks, then the arguement that we are not socialist has pretty much been thrown out the window.

Did anyone notice the number of people in Washington today protesting the decision on the "bailout" , I wonder if any of the so called elected officials even noticed it. You know with Christmas comming up, I have been wondering if the Govt. shouldn't start turning out Christmas bonus checks for everyone. Think about it , at least that would have stimulated the economy. Sure would have made me happy for at least a week.

Comrade, if we're going to be socialist no matter what, I'd rather spend money on universal healthcare and subsidized day care. Not on fat cat wall street tycoons.

Bernie Sanders had a good point. He said if Companies are too big to be allowed to fail, then they're too big to be allowed to exist. I think its a good idea to revisit anti-trust laws, and cut up some of these mega corporations into smaller pieces.
