Weird or cool things you have found in the walls or floor joists during a remodel....

Found this today. Completely preserved and still hanging upside down from a splinter in a 2x4.
The neatest things I find are old newspaper clippings from the 20's & 30's.
I also put one of my business cards inside the walls of every house I work on.

I initial every house in the roof trusses. J Petro with year.
Found a completely rotted handgun in a dirt crawlspace when replacing floor joists.

The recipe for my favorite scotch, Aberlour A'Bunadh, was found in the walls of the distillery when it was being remodeled. The recipe dated back to the 1880s.
