I lived in Las Cruces about sixty years ago and absolutely loved it. Many times considered returning in my retirement, but seeing numbers like this made me curious. When I looked up the numbers for the first time, I remember thinking, Whoa… is this for real? According to the latest FBI and local data, Albuquerque’s overall crime rate is significantly higher than the national average. In fact, it’s one of the highest among cities with populations over 500,000.
