Wealth of Five Richest Men Doubles Since 2020

And people learned from Ross Perot. So they don't vote third party any more.
People who paid attention know there's a real possibility Perot could have won the popular vote in '92 if he had not withdrawn from the race in July:

Ross Perot 1992 presidential campaign - Wikipedia

"Perot largely financed his own campaign and relied on marketing and wide grass roots support.

"In certain polls, he led the three-way race with Republican nominee George H. W. Bush, the incumbent President, and Governor Bill Clinton of Arkansas, the Democratic nominee.

"He dropped out in July 1992 amid controversy, but re-entered in October, participating in all three presidential debates."

You will never change anything that's fundamentally wrong with this country by "choosing" between Republican or Democrat.

Because government is corrupt in communist countries also

Capitalism just gives the pinhead civil servants more wealth to mismanage than they could dream of in a lib workers paradise
Maybe the problem is private wealth regardless of where it's hoarded?

Capitalism and private wealth have never existed without war and debt, and it's suicidal for any society to imagine they ever could:

The Corruption of US Foreign Policy

"The $1.5 trillion in military outlays each year is the scam that keeps on giving—to the military-industrial complex and the Washington insiders—even as it impoverishes and endangers America and the world..."

"The puzzle is solved by recognizing that American foreign policy is not at all about the interests of the American people.

"It is about the interests of the Washington insiders, as they chase campaign contributions and lucrative jobs for themselves, staff, and family members.

"In short, US foreign policy has been hacked by big money."

There are almost countless variations of socialism.
This is the one I prefer, and it has never been tried in an economy as powerful as the US:

About Co-ops

"A co-op is a business that is owned and self-managed by its members with the principle of 'one person, one vote.'

"There is no boss, CEO, or Board of Directors who can make decisions by themselves and for their own personal benefit.

"Co-ops are people-centered, and are driven to create sustainable enterprises and long-term stability for all involved in them.

"The values that form the base of any cooperative are self-help, self-responsibility, democracy, equality, equity, and solidarity.

"The management structures and day-to-day operations are designed according to the needs and desires of the co-op members and can vary greatly."
Co-Ops are great, and many do well thanks to our capitalist system.

In a socialist regime people wouldn’t have the ability to form co-ops.

I shudder to think how miserable the world would be if the communists had been the strongest world power during the past 75 years

We have zero socialism in america. That's all bs. The major capitalists(the billionaire all swamp folk, every last one) do great.

Can you name a communist state which has maimed, murdered, and displaced millions of innocent civilians on the opposite side of the planets from its homeland during the past 75 years?

One of the biggest reason US billionaires prosper is the privatization of war which funds their political control over American foreign policy:

The Corruption of US Foreign Policy

"The Foreign Policy division is run by a small, secretive and tight-knit coterie, including the top brass of the White House, the CIA, the State Department, the Pentagon, the Armed Services Committees of the House and Senate, and the major military firms including Boeing, Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon.

"There are perhaps a thousand key individuals involved in setting policy.

"The public interest plays little role.

The key foreign policy makers run the operations of 800 US overseas military bases, hundreds of billions of dollars of military contracts, and the war operations where the equipment is deployed.

"The more wars, of course, the more business.

"The privatization of foreign policy has been greatly amplified by the privatization of the war business itself, as more and more 'core' military functions are handed out to the arms manufacturers and to contractors such as Haliburton, Booz Allen Hamilton, and CACI."

Coops were here for thousands of years before capitalism or socialism:

Co-op History

"Thousands of Years of Economic Cooperation

"Human survival has always depended on working together.

"Cooperativism stretches back to early African civilizations, American First Nations, and other populations across the globe, whose fundamental principles for economic organization were (and still are) balance, solidarity, and reciprocity."

I don't think Jay-Z or Oprah got their billions off war.

US-led unipolar hegemonic order an abnormal state, will be reformed sooner or later - Global Times

"Fox News compares the current international relations to the Cold War.

"This is an ignorant charge.

"'The prominent feature of the world structure before 1989 was group confrontation. Let's see, who is now promoting group confrontation? It is the US,' Yang Xiyu, a senior research fellow at the China Institute of International Studies, told the Global Times.

"It is the US that has been taking its allies under a tight grip in an attempt to jointly contain China and Russia, launch economic wars, proxy wars, diplomatic coercion and spread smears.

"And now, it wants to portray itself as a 'gentle giant,' who is reluctant to be challenged.

"Few will buy this anymore."

Any fortune denominated in US dollar came from war and debt.

Buying US Debt Subsidizes Imperialism | Michael Hudson
how's that? Why is Oprah and Jay-Z responsible for the Govts spending problem?

The largest drivers of our debt aren't war, or the DoD, it's medicare, and medicaid.

"Medicare and Medicaid are the single biggest drivers of the federal deficit and the federal debt by a huge margin." - Obama.

The Korean War was not unipolar

It was the Free World led by the US against the Communist Bloc

Ditto for Vietnam and the Gulf War

Without America the russian bear would have reigned supreme

Your link:

"But Obama's singling out of Medicare and Medicaid (in 2009) is true over a much longer window of time, say, over the next 50 to 75 years."

Social Security and Medicare are revenue problems that can be solved by increasing the salary cap on SS and corporate taxation levels to make Medicare universal.

Military spending, however, is the primary driver of US balance of payments deficit.

Imho, government debt can always be paid as long as that debt is denominated in its own currency; however, private debt poses a much greater threat to society since it is deliberately designed to transfer income from the poorest 90% to the richest 10% of society.

Sending Dollars Abroad … via the Military | Michael Hudson

"The problem that is tearing the American economy apart is not the government debt — it’s the private debt that is leading to a default.

"When you default on your debt, you forfeit you property to the creditors.

"So, what you’re seeing now is a large scale transfer of property, a transfer of real estate, a transfer of cars that people had bought, but couldn’t keep up the payments on, a transfer of income from the 90% to the 10%.

"That’s private debt."

The Korean War happened because the US possessed nuclear weapons in 1945 and the USSR did not; It was the US not the Soviets who denied Koreans the right to self-determination in September of 1945:

When U.S. forces under Gen. Reed Hodge arrived in Inchon to accept the Japanese surrender, they

a. "ordered all Japanese officials to remain in their posts, refused to recognize Lyuh as national leader, and soon banned all public reference to the KPR
b. recognized Lyuh as the legitimate head of state
c. negotiated with Lyuh to facilitate swift attainment of independence of a united Korea"

I know about communist attempts to rewrite history

Maybe the marxist lies succeeded with you

But the fact is that communist north korea invaded the south and only intervention by the United Nations lead by the United States prevented enslavement of the whole country by the marxists

BTW: Lyuh Woon-hyung was a communist

Nothing is incorruptible, but few things have a greater potential for corruption than an economic system (capitalism) that allows investors to profit from war, ethnic cleansing, and genocide:

Global Capitalism Has Become Dependent on War-Making to Sustain Itself

"Wars provide critical economic stimulus.

"They have historically pulled the capitalist system out of accumulation crises while they serve to deflect attention from political tensions and problems of legitimacy.

"It took World War II to finally lift world capitalism out of the Great Depression."

All things have the same degree of corruptibility because the humans that do them are all corruptible
