Baloney.
There was no "popular vote." The election system INTENTIONALLY does not award the win to the person with the most popular votes because to do so would be stupid, as the Founding Fathers well knew. Look at the success of Bernie Sanders, who never was a serious candidate, but simply catered to low-information, naïve voters with little or no real life experience. Christ, they still haven't got the news from Tuesday night!
If the election had been IN ADVANCE determined to be won by the popular vote, then the entire campaign and election would have been different. The candidates would focused 90% of their energy, money, and time on the most densely populated areas. The campaign promises would have been geared to the concerns of people who live in densely populated areas. Both candidates would have pursued minority votes vigorously.
But Trump didn't care how many votes he lost by in New York, California, Massachusetts or Illinois. Who gives a shit? 10 votes? 10 million votes? Makes no difference in the Electoral College. Those states are a lost cause. Campaigning there under our current system is a complete waste of time for a Republican.
People in "flyover" country would have been poorly and weakly served, and there is no telling what the effects would have been.
Whining about the popular vote is yet another indication of how insipid and unreal HRC's supporters have been.
