What we said before the war, in no particular order

1. The invasion of Iraq will cause, not prevent, terrorism.

We Told You So, I: “The U.S.-led invasion of Iraq has accelerated the spread of Osama bin Laden's anti-Americanism among once local Islamic militant movements, increasing danger to the United States as the al Qaeda network is becoming less able to mount attacks, according to senior intelligence officials at the CIA and State Department."


2. The Bush administration was not to be trusted when it warned of the WMD threat.


3. Going in without the U.N. is worse than not going in at all.
4.They were asleep at the switch pre-9/11 and have been trying to cover this up ever since.

5.And they manipulated 9/11 as a pretext for a long-planned invasion of Iraq.


6.Any occupation by a foreign power, particularly one as incompetently planned as this one, will likely create more enemies than friends and put the U.S. in a situation similar at times to Vietnam, and at other times, similar to Israel’s occupation of Lebanon; both were disasters.


7. An invasion of Iraq will draw resources and attention away from the genuine perpetrators of the attack on us, and allow them to regroup for further attacks.


8.Bonus: Mel Gibson’s “The Passion of the Christ” will increase anti-Semitism worldwide.

Well, I'm about as likely to enjoy Slate's op/ed's as you are to enjoy Pat Buchanan's. However, I did have a question about this one:

Does this mean that if the UN occupied Iraq, that the UN would become more hated worldwide? And if so, when would the UN ever have a mandate to do anything?

So, by Slate's logic we should never have gone into Germany to end WW II.

We never should have gone into Afghanistan & taken out the Taliban.

Since the film came out there has not been a single event of anti-semitism directly attributed to any person, or group that has seen the movie. You who make these kind of accusations are using it as an excuse not to see the film for fear of the impact that it may have upon you. Even if you have seen the film you use the anti-semitism fears to avoid the central question of "What will you do with Christ?" now that you have seen an accurate portrayal of how crucifixtions took place under the Romans.

Next, your short comment about Anne Coulter is expected since she is not afraid to accurately depict Democrats for what they really are....SOCIALISTS. Liberal is not an accurate description any longer, since John Kennedy, due to the socialist agenda D's have promoted since LBJ's Great Society.
