I raised three kids and every one of them took sex ed classes in school. I also know exactly how it was taught because they all attended schools where I taught or in the same district. It did not harm them as you believe it does.

No one is reticent about explaining to the children playing doctor is never a good choice. Our teens are intelligent people--and very inexperienced. As I mentioned before, Theology of the Body for Teens is an excellent avenue as is explaining why sexual abstinence until marriage has been recommended throughout society since even ancient times. I am not saying Theology of the Body for Teens should be taught in public schools, but just like the mention of birth control, mention of it for those who might be interested is not out of line.
