Instead of prescribing a pill, how about they identify the root cause of the problem and address that? It's typically diet, but they're not taught nutrition in medical school, only what pill to prescribe for the symptom. Dr. Jason Fung had a great example of that, if you go to the doctor with an ear infection and a fever, do they tell you take some Tylenol, i.e. a medication that will abate the symptoms, or do they prescribe an antibiotic, that actually gets rid of the infection that is causing the temperature and pain? Because that's exactly what they do in a large percentage of medical cases, especially Type 2 Diabetes, they treat the symptoms, not the root cause. They throw Metformin or Jardiance, or one of the other 'little pills' that you see advertised nonstop on tv. Where if they addressed the root cause, your diet, you wouldn't need any medication or surgeries to fix it, and no one makes any money then. I'd bet 80%+ of all illnesses in our country are traced back to diet, including many cancers, certainly heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, and many of the auto immune illnesses like IBS, Chrones and on and on it goes. All so the food industry and the medical/pharma industry make bank.
