As OP, I wanted it mostly to be about the irony of a state that has given itself the legal right to sexually assault children, and wants you to believe it's preventing child abuse.

You just have to take your chances.

I chose a diocese and a church with a bishop and a priest I can trust. There are fewer leftist dimocrats in my pastorate -- a word they made up when the liberals and homos destroyed the abundance of priests, so now many priest have to manage many parishes, instead of just one.

And I will wait until judgment falls and hope it's soon.

I would trust that a parishioner in the church would be more in tune with someone who is a child abuser and report them.

Don't you understand anything about law and the presumption of innocence?

Or shall I accuse you of child abuse and then let you make your way through the legal system to defend your innocence.

Accusations of this nature require the utmost care and in the end, The state has no right to break a privileged communication on the 'accusation' of one person to another.

Isn’t part of confession of sins a way to reconcile to God, and if that is the case, isn’t making amends to the wronged person a key part of reconciliation?

Should or does a priest have a moral obligation to protect other children of God to encourage the abuser to go turn himself in?

A priest will always assume that the confession is genuine and appeal to the person confessing to turn himself/herself in to the authorities.

Unless he's one of the twisted leftist priests who just wants a cheap thrill.

Leftist priests do not believe in so much of Catholic law. Hard to even begin to understand their minds.

Of course, to faithful Catholics, the whole point of Confession is to receive and carry out penance.
