Trump will not be involved in managing family business as president, company says

  • Trump will hand management of his company to his children
  • The Trump Organization will not enter into new contracts with foreign governments
  • Agreement inadequate, ethics expert says, citing conflicts of interest
Jan 10 (Reuters) - Donald Trump will hand over daily management of his multi-billion-dollar real estate, hotel, golf, media and licensing portfolio to his children when he enters the White House, the Trump Organization said on Friday, repeating an arrangement that he made during his first term that an ethics expert said still posed conflicts.

New Mideast Project Is Latest Trump Company Deal Tied to a Foreign Government

The Trump Organization has agreed to a new Middle East golf course and real estate deal that involves a Qatari government-owned firm, two weeks before President Trump is set to travel to Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates on a state visit.

The project in Qatar, a key U.S. ally and home to a major American military base, is a partnership with Qatari Diar, a real estate company established by the country’s sovereign wealth fund and chaired by a government minister.

Eric Trump, the president’s son who runs the family business, traveled to the Middle East this week to attend a cryptocurrency conference and promote the company’s real estate developments, which include a separate Trump-branded tower in Dubai, the largest city in the Emirates.

The two projects will also involve Dar Global, the international subsidiary of the private Saudi real estate firm Dar Al Arkan, which is leading the project and has close ties to the Saudi government. The Qatar project was initially reported by Reuters.

The Trump golf course in Qatar is the most recent in a series of projects that directly involve foreign governments. And it is just one of a growing list of ways that the Trump family is profiting from Mr. Trump’s refreshed status after his return to the White House, including two cryptocurrency ventures.

Trump’s Corruption Hits Next Level With Shady $2 Billion Crypto Deal

There are two ways trump devotees can respond to this thread. One, "trump broke his promise not to corruptly make deals with foreign governments while prez and that is an abuse of office." Or two, "How many more anti-trump threads are you going to start, berg?"

My money is on door number two.

He did that when he was elected in 2016.

Right. Sure. Too funny.

And he's already pocketed hundreds of millions with his Crypto Pump & Dump (Trump 'n Dump!) scamming, fucking over his flock and leaving them as huge losers.

He is completely lawless now, and the hero of the Manson Girls.
One can see how the board's trumples revel in him thumbing his nose at ethics rules, the Emoluments Clause, the Supreme Court, and the Constitution.

Mitch McTreason once said of Joe Biden, “you can’t legislate by executive action unless you are a dictator.” Yet.......

Trump sets executive order record in his first 100 days

trumples don't give a damn about the open corruption, the flaunting of law, the abuse of power, or anything else trump does. Like congressional Repubs, The Following has forgotten their loyalty is supposed to be to the country, not Dear Leader.

Yep. They want to be ruled by a right wing authoritarian. Modern-day fascism.

He's doing everything he can, and has been fairly successful so far.

As I said in another thread, he has achieved the most important things he wanted from running again. Avoiding conviction for felonies that could land him in jail, and making himself richer.

So this isn't news, bud.

I think it's pretty clear that you're trying to infer that Trump is incompetent or something.

If you read the article, it says:

The Trump Organization also said the company "will not enter into any new material transactions or contracts with a foreign government, except for Ordinary Course Transactions."

So, what does that mean? It kind of sounds like they will still work with foreign governments on real estate deals, but not anything else?

trump engaging in two deals business with foreign governments after pledging not to do so isn't news? What do you think about his overtly corrupt acts to enrich himself?

Trump can be on the board of trustees, but he cannot be anything under the title of "management", because it's a conflict in interest.

Which he gave up, and gave to his sons in 2016.

He still owns everything, but his sons manage everything.
Trump is allowed to keep his interests he had BEFORE he became president, but he's not allowed to purchase any more stocks while being President.

He CAN be an advisor to his sons for business reasons, but only to the extent he is an uninvolved advisor.

"Ordinary course" means any deals currently in place can be managed. Those deals also represent conflicts of interest.
