War in Iran - News and More

Drones over Washington.

"Unidentified drones were detected above the Washington Army base where Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth reside, according to a Thursday report from The Washington Post, citing three sources familiar with the situation.

A senior administration official told the Post that the military is increasingly monitoring potential threats, as alert levels rise in the US amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.

Over the past 10 days, multiple drones were spotted flying over Fort McNair in a single night, though their origin remains unknown."

Iran´s attack on Qatar´s Las Raffan Industrial City and LNG facilities in the past two days caused the price of European gas to rise by 25 % to 67,89 Euros per megawatt hour. Also the oil price reacted mildly.

Iran rejects a ceasefire and demands Israeli and US security guarantees if the war should end, the Financial Paywall Times reports.

"We need guarantees, and we will not back down, even if the war lasts one year. If Iran is destroyed, the entire region will be destroyed,"
said an interlocutor close to the regime.

The United States does not know how to start or end a war in this region. We do not agree to a ceasefire, after which the war will resume in a few months,"
said the speaker of the Iranian parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf."

"The US Department of Defense has submitted an extraordinary budget request to the White House for more than $200 billion to fund the continuation of the military campaign in Iran, the Washington Post reported tonight. The unusual amount is intended to enable the U.S. military to urgently increase the production of critical munitions and precision weapons.

According to administration officials, the direct cost of the war has skyrocketed, crossing the $11 billion mark in the first week of fighting. However, despite the Pentagon's demand, the White House is skeptical of the ability to pass such a sum in Congress, where it is expected to face strong opposition from Democrats and some Republicans, given the limited public support for the campaign."

Iranian drones:

Besides the famous Shaheds, there are also the top-notch Iranian drones that apparently keep Pentagon planners up at night. Below is a list of the Iranian drone arsenal, as follows:

Mohajer-6: The tactical backbone of Iran's proxy forces. This drone is a battlefield multiplier, equipped with electro-optical sensors and capable of launching highly accurate Almaz anti-tank missiles. It has also been exported and deployed in conflicts from the Caucasus to the Red Sea, systematically destroying armored vehicles and fortifications.

Mohajer-10: The next evolution in striking capability, the system boasts three times the range (2,000 km) and twice the flight time (24 hours) of its predecessor. It can carry a payload of 300 kg, including up to six "smart bombs" or cruise missiles.

Kaman-22: Iran's "large-body" combat drone, with a range of 3,000 km, it can reach the most remote US outposts. It carries a 300 kg payload of air-to-surface missiles and glide bombs designed to strike command centers and radar stations deep behind enemy lines.

Karrar: The jet-powered drone, unlike propeller drones, races to its target at high subsonic speeds. It can be configured as a swarm leader or as a "mini-cruise missile" carrying a 225 kg warhead to strike time-critical targets before defenses can react.

Fotros : The heavyweight, with a range of 2,000 km and a flight time of 30 hours, carries up to six missiles. Its large fuselage enables powerful, advanced communication relays, meaning it can guide other drones or missiles to their targets while remaining outside the immediate launch zone.

Arash-2: A drone specifically designed to hunt down radar installations. As soon as a US Patriot or THAAD battery activates its radar, the Arash-2 can locate it with a range of over 1,000 km and destroy the system, effectively blinding the base's air defenses.

Adid-110 (Dalaho) : A jet-powered drone. It reaches speeds of 510 km/h with a radar cross-section of less than 0.02 square meters, thus evading detection by F-15E and E-3C aircraft. With a range of 350 km and a 30 kg warhead, it precisely targets infrastructure in the Persian Gulf and flies silently past Western defense systems.

Meraj-521: A portable weapon that fits in a backpack, with a range of 5 km and interchangeable warheads from 500 g to 1 kg, it silently strikes bunkers and armor via live video transmission. Launched in swarms from the ground or air, it dismantles fortified positions without exposing a single soldier to return fire.

Yes, this is a good argument.

I compared it accurately:

It looks very different. The video still looks very real and the AI said:

  • Complex lighting and shadows behave naturally around the flames, smoke, and crew members.
  • Fire and smoke have the chaotic, irregular patterns that AI models often struggle to reproduce convincingly.
  • Crew uniforms, equipment, and the ship’s deck show realistic wear, texture, and detail.
  • Perspective and composition look like a candid operational photo rather than a stylized AI scene.

Speaking in English he is talking about the war, stressing that it was not Israel that made the decision to start it.

Netanyahu said he will not attack more gas fields (for now) as requested by Trump. He admits the regime may survive but underlines it would be much weaker in that case, "at its weakest point". Starting at minute 40.

Our military/industrial complex was not on top of this and we need to find the cheapest way possible to take out this technology. Real cheap ways.

This is a correct assessment. There is a number of countries developing laser systems than can intercept drones and missiles. Turkey, Israel and Ukraine are doing that for sure. Such a system, once deployed, just needs electricity. Turkey is also combining laser with missile systems. Such a system will also be capable of indirect fire.
