Walz says abolish the Electoral College

In my state every citizen has one vote. Not sure where you live, but i find it odd it that wasn’t the case
I live in America where your vote counts towards electors, not president. The millions of California residents who vote for the Republican nominee will have their votes go to an elector who's going to give their voting power to the Democrat. Also because we cap the number of electors that means the votes of everyone in California are worth less than votes in other States.

I live in the united STATES of America

Not sure which America you live in.

Are you suggesting I don’t live in the United STATES of America?
Nope. I'm suggesting you're an idiot who's pretending you don't know what country I'm talking about because you ran out of ability to defend your argument.

Democrats want to abolish the EC because it currently blocks them from power.

If the roles were reversed, democrats would support the EC and denounce using the popular vote.

Conservatives generally want to stick to constitutional values even when they lose. Deconstructionist democrats would Gladly sprint from values and norms to gain power

Correct.
Democrats only care about winning, and will make whatever argument they believe increases their chances of doing so - even if it contradicts the argument they made yesterday.

Democratic Vice Presidential candidate Tim Walz said on Tuesday that the “Electoral College needs to go,” forcing the Kamala Harris campaign to release a statement saying it does not support abolishing the Constitutional mechanism for presidential elections.

At two campaign fundraisers on the West Coast, Walz called for abolishing the Electoral College, arguing that it forces candidates to focus too much attention on a handful of battleground states, The New York Times reported.

“I think all of us know, the Electoral College needs to go. We need a national popular vote,” Walz told donors at California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s home in Sacramento. “So we need to win Beaver County, Pennsylvania. We need to be able to go into York, Pennsylvania, and win. We need to be in western Wisconsin and win. We need to be in Reno, Nevada, and win.”

At an event earlier on Tuesday, Walz told supporters that he is “a national popular vote guy, but that’s not the world we live in.”

Following the Minnesota governor’s call for the Electoral College to be abolished, the Harris campaign said in a statement, “Governor Walz believes that every vote matters in the Electoral College and he is honored to be traveling the country and battleground states working to earn support for the Harris-Walz ticket.”

The Democrats claim that they are saving our "democracy".
But at the same time, they are attacking the foundations of our country.
The Electoral College strengthens our pluralistic election system.
Waltz is right...

It is a simple equality thing... Why does an US Citizens voice be greater or lesser, I thought it was about equality.

The only excuse so far from the nay sayers is 'I think know more that you, so I should have more of a say...'

That is how you convince yourself...

You reason for being undemocratic is that you would loose to people who will (in your mind) be undemocratic....

Think about what you just said..

The founding fathers never intended that the 51% rule over the 49%. Removing the electoral college does just that. Any politician, left, right, middle making this suggestion needs to be denounced.

I am not making any argument. I am simply stating facts, that you seem to have issues with

We live in the United STATES of America.

and where I live, every citizens has one vote.

These are just facts

As a stop gap solution I would at least a pact between all States that they award votes by Congressional District
For the Senate seat allocation, a candidate gets
66.6% or more: Get 2 votes
33.3% to 66.6% : Get 1 vote
Less than 33.3% 0 votes

A serious cleaning up of Congressional Districts to make the maps unpartisan and no gerrymandering.

I have no clue how this would favour one side or other but it would mean that Presidential Candidates would have to talk to all Americans, not just the swing states..

As the election hysteria intensifies, both sides claim their opponents are would-be dictators.

The question is: Which is more plausible, a right-wing authoritarian takeover or a left-wing authoritarian takeover?

The liberal/left controls the corporate media, many corporations, many banks, the educational system, numerous government bureaucracies including the security agencies, urban political machines, the courts, etc.

So clearly a left-wing authoritarian takeover is far more likely.

ie Population of Wyoming is 576,851

population of the CITY of Manhattan is 1,596,293

why should people living in Wyoming bother to vote?
You assume all of Wyoming votes R and all of Manhattan voted D. Wrong assumption.

No, I want the EC even if we lose.

Democrats seemingly want away with it because it prevents them from gaining power

I’m consistent, Democrats are not

Correct.

Indeed. They were talking about stacking the SCOTUS because they were whining about how judges were ruling. Conservatives never advocated for doing that when there was a leftist SCOTUS for so long

They want to deconstruct institutions so they can win.

Think about this...

The Right Wing are the pro Corporate party... They are the ones who appointed SC Judges who have increased corporation power..

What Judges pushed Corporate personhood?

As for Corporate Media, The Sinclair Group is the largest local TV network and Fox News is the largest Cable news network spend all day telling how the Media is liberal... Seriously, these Big Corporate media giants are spending all day telling you they are the underdogs..

The same for all other areas...

Good luck getting the 38 states on board with this proposal that would be needed, and getting them to vote away their own influence. Stupid, dumb ass politician who obviously slept through civics class.
