That is a pessimistic take on it. What difference did this misspoken thought present ? Did it cause the residents of an entire city to be threatened by crazy people with bomb threats and closing down schools ? Did it increase tensions in an already troubled town ? Did it increase hatred and ignorance in any way? Of course not . The same cannot be said of vance's and Trump's lies. They cut deep breath in every way possible

Where does she call him a racist? In fact, she specifically says that she did not think he was a racist.
She also complained about his opposition to busing. What he should have said was, "The problem with busing is that it triggered white flight from the cities, took away needed resources from already cash-strapped districts, and at the end of the day, parents of ALL races thought it was a bad idea, which is why it pretty much ended by the 1980s."
