Walz claims he served at Bagram AFB.

His answer to his pattern of lying and misrepresenting what he did and DID NOT do: "I am damn proud of my 24 years of service!". Well goody for him, nobody doubts he put in 24 years. He's just another poser liar that the Democrats seem to LOVE to promote to their highest ranks.
Did Harris vet this guy at all? Why weren't they ready for all this to come out?

At what point does it become a lie though? Walz was in fact promoted to that rank for many months, and he did retire while he was a CSM. It's just not official on paper. What I have an issue here is, the fact that Walz would have been sent to Iraq with that rank, he would have commanded his unit with that rank, and he would have come home with his rank as a CSM, and if he had retired before completely a basic academic course to make it official he can still be accused of stealing valor by those two commanders. If I'm going to be promoted to a certain rank and you're going to send me off to war with that rank I better be allowed to at least say i'm at that rank when I retire, whether or not I finished one educational course or not! It's not like 99.7% even knows the diference between a master sergeant and a CSM anyway for him to somehow get any points out of it. Saying he served 24 years is far and away more significant.
Bologna... he was not promoted because he didn't fulfill the requirements... he was never in Afghanistan or Iraq... he bailed on his unit just before they left for Afghanistan...
HE NEVER CARRIED A WEAPON IN COMBAT.... wake up!!!! stop defending this stolen valor fool...
He is an embarrassment to his uniform....

He WAS in Afghanistan… as a private citizen and he DID stand on the tarmac and watched the coffins get loaded.

He WAS a 24 year NG vet who rose to the rank of Command Sergeant Major. He DID deploy with his unit to Italy to backfill during Operation Enduring Freedom.

Eat a bag of dicks you Swiftboating assholes

I give him credit for his service... but he is misleading and he lies about his service... big difference... he doesn't have to lie...
Can't you see that?...
At worst he embellished. Lying is saying things that aren't true.

As of now the claim is threefold.

He lied about his rank. I can show you press statements by the national guard. Clearly stating that Walz retired in the rank you claim is a lie. A rank that was reduced because he didn't have the time in grade.

He lied about carrying weapons in war. I explained how it's technically true that he did. Although I can see how it can be taken differently. To claim it somehow constitutes stolen valor is way overboard though. If Vance says he served in Iraq. Something he undoubtedly did. Those of bad faith, could easily claim he is implying he was a combat soldier. No matter how many times he says he didn't see combat. Walz has been equally clear about not seeing combat since he's described his service as being deployed in Europe providing base security.

And then you have the object of this OP. A speech where Walz is straight up misquoted.
A misquote that's being very enthusiastically propagated by those on the right, despite it being easily debunked.

The fact of the matter is that this is a coordinated smear campaign of the service of a very senior retired non-com, for the sole purpose of political gain.

Claiming it's real outrage flies in the face of all logic. Since the top of the ticket you support is a confirmed draft dodger, not to mention, on record for disparaging those political enemies that were unquestionably war heroes for their service. All without a peep of the pearl clutchers on the right over this.

You made the statement no difference from being in combat or security in Europe.
You are yet again A LIAR. You purposely misstate what I say, just like you lie about Walz.

Sure, people in theater have a higher risk.
As for the rest. JC you really need to get a new shtick. I'm not ashamed for pointing out that you're playing politics with the memory of those that died at 9/11. Take some ownership for your own actions, instead of trying to blame them on other people.

He retired 24 years service, nearly ONE YEAR BEFORE his unit mobilized to Iraq.

You republicans wanted him to withdrawal from running for Congress because you knew your Republican candidate would lose against him....thus your nasty nasty nasty, campaign against him and attacking him....back then. And right now.

We know who you are and your dirty, nasty moves.

No, he was promoted and acted as one, but it was conditional on his finishing his coursework, which he was allowed to do at any time. 🤷‍♀️

what is it you're spinning canuck?

Excerpts from the book written with his quotes;

Link, you need to copy and paste

The controversy stems from a book published by the Minnesota Military and Veterans Museum last year, which quotes Walz's speech from the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

In the book, his remarks are presented alongside those by family members of the attacks’ victims in a section devoted to 20 years of “remembrance.”

“I had the privilege of serving in this state's national guard,” The book quotes Walz as having said. “I stood one night in the dark of night on the tarmac at Bagram Air Base in Iraq and watched a military ramp ceremony–a soldier’s body being loaded onto a plane to be returned home.”

Have you actually watched the video of him delivering that speech? He never said "Iraq." The video has even been posted in this thread. It's been clearly debunked. Walz was intentionally misquoted to make him look bad, assuming the quote is real, as it's being reported.

Our nation is upside down. anyone who is lower ranked and knows more how to do the work than the higher ranked is a sucker and it is dangerous. And there are many people in this nation who have experienced that with DEI.

MAGA can yell all it wants

This attack has lost traction quickly.

Walz is just another in a long line of phoney baloney democrat political frauds.

False. This is shore news. Shore News Network (shorenews.com) tends to have an exceedingly conservative political and social leaning. The site often covers topics and issues from a perspective that aligns with conservative values and viewpoints. This includes a focus on law enforcement, military, and traditional family values, as well as a critical stance on progressive policies and politicians.

Shore News and Nostra should always be fact checked.
Then by all means fact check

Did Wallz say that "yes"

Is Bagram in Iraq "No"

Fact check correct your spin and bs about the source doesn't change that

I give two shits what if any country he said, he claimed he was at Bagram. One can find where that is.

He went to Bagram on a congressional trip. That is a fact.

As shown in the video on this thread of the speech… Walz did not say Bagram was in Iraq

Stop lying
he did say he was at Bagram, does it matter at all if he did or did not say iraq?

not what he said in his speech or his quote in the book. In fact, he inferred it was during his commission.
