People in general do not like illegal immigration, but businesses hire illegals to have cheap labor, that cannot complain much for fear of being individually prosecuted for fraud and possibly deported, having to break in to the country again.
Politicians will not crack down on businesses and individual employers with hard strictly enforced penalties and jail times against the employers providing employment, that is attracting them, as it is the 3rd rail of the immigration issue for politicians, in both parties, though it is the only thing that could work. Business political interests, trump national sovereignty and security issues, every time.
