These people are hate mongers.The Fossil Fuel Industry (the latest bugaboo we're instructed to hate) has nothing to do with it. What do you want them to do, lower prices to reduce profits? What would that do? I know, it would increase the use of, you got it, fossil fuels. Let's see, they could dramatically increase prices which would reduce the use of fossil fuels, but then their profits would go even higher, and we just can't allow someone to make a lot of money. What exactly do you want them to do?

i don't know why a smart guy like you would go thereWhat could we possibly do to stop it? Cut back on oil use while the worlds worst polluters (China and India) crush us economically and take over as the sole superpowers of the world? The pollution wouldnt stop, but the entire world would fall into a dark age that could last centuries if China took over.
The world has changed since it existed and will continue to change until it is gone. Rather than sending us into a dark age where millions of people die, how about we just adapt by building sea walls if the oceans rise? How about we just dont use certain coastal city locations anymore? I would WAAAAYYYY rather see a slow migration inland over decades as the sea level slowly creeps up, as opposed to living under the rule of China's iron fist.
Unless any of you have a way to stop China from polluting, whatever climate disaster is coming is going to happen no matter what the rest of the world does.
