Actually it is one would have to prove they feared for their life in order for self defense to apply. I heard of no testimony ever even suggesting that the victim was armed.

“Anthony escalated a verbal disagreement into a deadly encounter by pulling a knife from his backpack and stabbing an unarmed teenager.” From the article I linked earlier.

I defy anyone, including IQ2, to explain how pulling a knife out of a bag to stab an unarmed “other person” fails to make out a homicide.
