They are saying even if he is guilty, they wouldn't convict. One of the black jurors who was released said that exact thing under oath during voir dire.

Well, this kid has really screwed up his life. I wish somebody had talked some sense into his head before he went and did this. Walk away from trouble whenever you can — but it’s too late now.

Since it’s murder, the sentencing range is a minimum of five years to life. Five years sounds awfully light, and I don’t see a jury giving him only five. He’ll most likely spend something closer to twenty years in prison before he’s even eligible for parole.

So yes, he has pretty much destroyed his future. Minimum‑wage work is probably the best he’ll ever be able to get unless he develops some extraordinary skill that can make or save a company a lot of money. That’s his only real financial salvation now.

Do you remember the case in 2018 in Florida involving a self‑appointed handicapped‑parking “vigilante”? His name was Michael Drejka. He confronted a Black woman, Britany Jacobs, because she was parked in a handicapped spot without a permit.

While Drejka was arguing with her, her boyfriend, Markeis McGlockton, came out of the store, saw the confrontation, and shoved Drejka to the ground. While on the ground, Drejka pulled out a gun and shot McGlockton, killing him.

Drejka claimed Stand Your Ground and self‑defense, but the jury rejected that argument. He was convicted of manslaughter in August 2019 and later sentenced to 20 years in prison.

So yes — white people do get convicted in these situations.
