I don't think it was first-degree murder, any more than what Caysen Allison did was first-degree murder.

But this tragedy wouldn't have happened if the Metcalf brothers hadn't been a couple of jock bullies.

Because you have a very similar case with Caysen Allison, who got 10 years (after the jury recommended a mere two) for knifing a kid to death.


Actually, it's very appealable. Batson, Flowers, there've been a whole series of decisions that convicting a black person after excluding blacks from a jury is unacceptable.

How are they different? If anything the Allison case is worse. He targeted his victim specifically, threatened him for days, stabbed him multiple times, and tried to flee the jurisdiction.

But white boy- only gets 10 years.
