That good will has long disappeared thanks to the evil interventions the empire has committed. The America of the 1980s was near invincible, this is the time frame I relate to most in terms of understanding what America stood for and their global reputation. That would be the sweet spot time frame and it isn't even probably truly the height of the U.S power, though it was more obviously morally respected compared to the Eastern Bloc.
Again, you mock my beliefs as if I'm naive. I'm not naive, I know the games that governments play, often biblically imperfect. What is most important to me is what America does to protect freedom in nations that believe in these principles, you must lead by example and demand other nations do the same.
You compare this to other nations who, if they DO change, will gain on the U.S but currently are well behind on principle.
If people in America, Britain, Canada, Germany, France etc. have civil liberties violated it is greatly in the benefit both morally and economically, among other benefits; for these nations to hold to account any violators. The Goodwill America has built up around the globe is unmatched. It shouldn't be weakened to benefit any party or short term objective.
The US Empire is a bankrupt militaristic empire in its death throes.
