Veganism and health.

^ Exactly. That has been the exact pattern throughout this thread. No true debate. No actual honest discussion with goodwill.

They bring up an argument (In Woodnutz' case, arguments we've been over a guhzillion times in the past) I take the time to write out a detailed reply, addressing their points with arguments, supporting reasons and relevant scriptures.... and then instead of addressing what was said, those posts have been completely ignored. And exactly as you put it, instead of responding with a counter-argument (which is how debate is supposed to work) they just throw out a different "challenge" that has already been addressed a thousand times while completely ignoring everything that was said.

Never resolving any particular issue, but just jumping to other things while completely ignoring what was posted on the previous issue.

THANK YOU, EXACTLY!!!!

That's why I called it "leap frogging."

And as I mentioned earlier on the thread, that style of "debate" (if you can call it that, it really isn't debate at all) is a pet peeve of mine. My atheist Dad used to debate with me that same way, always leap-frogging from one thing to the next while never addressing ANYTHING that was said or coming back with a valid logical counter-argument. Just throwing more stuff out, rapid-fire, while ignoring everything and never addressing anything. It's annoying and I think it shows that the person's mind / heart is completely closed off to anything but their pre-existing position.

Same here. I'm not going to waste any more time like I did the last few days TRYING to have an actual discussion with anyone who continually ignores everything and then pretends that I never addressed what they said, when I did at least 4 or 5 times. It's not cool, and it's a waste of time with anyone who operates that way.
Isn't it ironic that you, as a vegan, chose to name your alter ego after a cup of BUTTER?

My screenname is actually from the Powerpuff girls cartoon.... it was a nickname given to me YEARS ago because I used to go to political rallies and events with a blonde friend and a redhead friend, so someone started calling us the powerpuff girls and gave us those nicknames.

And even if it does have the word 'butter' in it... this silly screenname was picked in 2010. I didn't go vegan until 2016, 6 years later. 😝

So the irony escapes you. I see. Hmmmm.

No I knew exactly what you were saying. Still I just wanted to make it clear that it was picked years BEFORE I went vegan. And even then it wasn't named after a "cup of butter."

And I have considered changing my screenname. Not for that reason....for other reasons, but I digress.

What a dumb thing to whine about 🙄

The only "ironic" thing is the slang definition: The phrase "Suck it up, buttercup" is a common idiom that means someone is being overly sensitive or not tough enough

Yet, here you are standing against the crowd debating the "hard stuff" they're afraid to debate. Wear it with pride

Gee, Capt. Obvious is in the room but is unable to understand irony. LMAO

True. Not only that , there are bad side effects. Humans are Omnivores. A Vegan diet leads to serious deficiencies.

That's demonstrably and hilariously false. There is ZERO nutritional need to eat flesh, or any animal products.

You've all been brainwashed since birth by industries that make a ton of money from keeping people ignorant. I know, I was a non-vegan for most of my life, just like most people.

I'm FAR healthier now, as a vegan, than I was as a flesh eater. I don't get sick anymore...almost NEVER, even when I'm around people who are sick.

And as I've mentioned before, in the last 9 years, every single time I've gotten my bloodwork done it comes back near perfect. No deficiencies.

There are tons of people who have cured themselves from all sorts of illnesses by radically changing their diet, to a whole food plantbased diet. It lowers one's risk for cancer and heart disease and other preventable diseases.

The problem is, people LOVE eating dead animals so much that they only want to hear what their itching ears want to hear. And the animal industries fund "studies" to do just that - tell people what their itching ears want to hear.

Meanwhile cancer and heart disease are epidemics in the US, because people don't want to give up their bacon, steak, cheese, etc etc. And they turn a blind eye to the horror show that goes on every day.... and mock people who speak against it. But since this is a messed up, upside-down world, I guess it shouldn't be surprising.

But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’

You used to understand this stuff.
Is Scripture THE source of Truth to you?
I guess I want you to state if you're still a follower of Christ or you just like to debate these topics. Do you honestly ASK GOD in PRAYER for understanding?

I counter your positions with actual scripture, not my ideas of what scripture means but doesn't actually say. Deeming someone merciless because they eat meat is wrong. If true, this behavior and attitude would be widespread and manifest in many other acts of cruelty and violence. People are generally thoughtless, but not merciless, violent, and cruel.

Our health problems are a bit more complex than that. "Correlation isn't causation." You have rightly observed that our world is a 'fallen' one. If meat eating is partially to blame, then all who eat meat are failed beings physically, morally, and spiritually. Happily, this is not the case.

I have a spotless record despite your hypotheticals
Not relevant to the topic. Many good drivers hit deer and other critters on the highways. A driver once hit a deer that had ran across just behind me. That driver had no chance to exhibit a "spotless driving record" to avoid the crash.

Tens of thousands of those "hypotheticals" happen every year.

Gee, for someone as sensitive to personal attacks as you claim to be, this response ^^^ seems quite insulting and is clearly a personal attack. Maybe you should practice what you preach. Hypocrite?
