Maybe in the future the team will think about how they represent our country.

Sweden stuns USWNT in penalties; defending Women's World Cup champs eliminated

The Women’s World Cup Round of 16 matchup between the United States women’s soccer team and Sweden came down to a matter of centimeters but it was the latter squad who benefited the most.

Lina Hurtig was the 14th player to come to the mark to take her shot. She took a deep breath and fired the ball at U.S. goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher. The veteran keeper push the ball up and it hit the top of the post. However, when the ball came back down, it crossed the goal line.

No. Maybe in the future, they'll put together a team that doesn't sleepwalk its way through matches and actually shows some fire on the pitch.
At times they looked like they weren't interested in being there.

And now, they're going home. Let's see what they learn from this and put forward in four years.

Followers predicted that the favourites would crash after England summarily dismissed them last October here in London . Our European champions are likely winners , though Japan are looking a good side . Age caught up with the US and having Crapinoe eventually became a liability . God did not like her either .

These competitions are for the young who are in tip top physical condition. Having old people on your squad does not help.

They pulled Morgan & put everybody’s favorite green-haired footballer in her place; this is perhaps why they lost in OT.

Morgan places her hand over her heart & sings the Anthem btw.

Actually, they looked better in this game than in any other in the Cup.

Alex has lost a step, and Rose got her second YC in her last game & thus not playing, so that was likely the difference, along with pulling Morgan at the end of regulation, which was a huge mistake, slower though she now is.

Some good points.

England’s the team to beat, and only Spain MIGHT do that.

Japan will mop up the pitch with Sweden of course.

I watched the game, quite good and i thought overall the US were the better side on the day, but it's the final result that counts.
Well, you can afford to be magnanimous - your lasses are likely going all the way to the winner’s circle! :)

USSoccer doesn’t learn anything. They never have and probably never will. Both the men’s and women’s senior national teams have major issues from coaching, management, and oversight to basic player development. Unless something significant changes we have seen the last US soccer trophy in a major tournament for the foreseeable future for either squad.
