Flight ops just outside of the war zone.

Since December, the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group, Carrier Air Wing 1 and its escorts have been operating in the Adriatic and Ionian seas launching 80 to 90 sorties a day as far north as Lithuania for a variety of missions with NATO-allied aircraft from Romania, France and Italy. Some fighters launched from Truman are training, while some are set to police NATO’s airspace and prevent Russian aircraft from violating those borders.

As part of the Ukrainian invasion, the Russian Navy has massed ships in the Eastern Mediterranean centered on its sole foreign naval base in Tartus, Syria. Those forces include two Slava-class guided-missile cruisers – RTS Marshal Ustinov (055) and RFS Varyag (011) – designed to take on U.S. and NATO aircraft carriers.

The Truman CSG is joined in the Mediterranean by other ships from NATO, including FS Charles De Gaulle (R 91) and the Italian aircraft carrier ITS Cavour (CVH 550). But Russian ships and submarines are also in the area, Del Toro said. Deterring those ships operating in the Eastern Mediterranean are a major part of the Truman CSG’s mission as well as the policing operation over NATO countries in Europe.

This might be significant because recent missile launches by the Russian ships that targeted Liviv in the Black Sea had to violate either Moldovian and / or Bulgarian air space. Nato can surely insist on a no fly zone over their air space and enforce it. Any intrusion by Russian missiles and or aircraft would be acceptable targets.

Not necessarily, those cruise missiles fly like a plane along whatever path is programmed into them.

Thank you, but if they went on a direct fight they would go over NATO territory. Isn't technology great.

That's the point, they don't have to. They can fly an extremely complex pattern if necessary, generally to avoid known anit aircraft assets and to keep the enemy off base as to their final destination.

Where is the evidence for your claim? The Pentagon just sent one of its marionettes, Austin, to Bulgaria the day after the Russian diplomats were expelled.

That’s great! Lets escalate this war into a nuclear holocaust! Yippee!

Why do you say that?

Best to just let Russia do whatever they like, hell give them all of Europe so that poor little gipper does not have to hide in his basement waiting of the bombs to fall

Total personnel of the Russian Army is 2 million. Putin's ultimatum deadline was set for 5 AM 2022 Mar 21.

2022 Mar 21 Moscow Times
'...."Today Mariupol is saving Kyiv, Dnipro and Odessa. Everyone must understand this." '

Another source earlier said:

' "As soon as the Russian forces take the city of Mariupol under control, the Kiev regime will fall," Vladimir Kozin, a member of the Academy of Military Sciences of the Russian Federation said. "The capture of Mariupol and its complete liberation from the Ukrainian neo-nazis is of great importance for the Russian Army." '

They already shot down some drones over Poland, so it was claimed. We have AWACS on station 24/7 also.

Yes that’s right. In their sphere of influence…you know like their neighboring nations, it’s not our business. You go fight and leave us alone.

Ever heard of the Monroe Doctrine?

Stop being a typical uninformed American hypocrite.

I heard on tv they hit a lot of children earlier in the day. How does one pray at vespers hour for the massive child murders that are being executed by the Russian armies. I can't watch to much tv anymore. I start crying when they mention children being taken out by sniper fire with the shooters protecting themselves behind structures. Good night all. Time for vespers. :huddle:
