Thoughts are for the good people of Florida and Georgia tonight as Helene made landfall and remains a dangerous storm. Hope WelfareQueen and Sherry and Montrovant and any others got glancing blows.
We pray or send positive thoughts or keep vigil for:
Harper, the inspiration for the vigil list. More surgeries ahead.
Ringel05 for continued wellness and his brothers' families for relief from adversity and illness.
Hombre & Foxfyre's son Mike for continued wellness
Beautress for health and wellness.
SFC Ollie for healing and wellness
Gracie for solutions and peace.
Mrs. Saveliberty for healing.
Oddball's mom for continued good health and healing.
Boedicca's brother Douglas for successful treatment and wellness.
Dajjal and his sister with the best possible solution for a difficult situation.
And all our insomniacs having trouble getting a good night's sleep.
And we keep the light on so those who have moved on to other places can find their way back. And we hope they do.
The storm may be fierce and terrible, but it ends.

Thanks for reporting in WQ. Happy all is well there. Looks like we need to add the people of the Carolinas and even Virginia to the concern list though. We are about 8 miles in from the coast north of Tampa. This is the third hurricane in the last two years that has skidded by us about 110 miles off the coast. We have buried power lines in our area, quite a bit of Florida does, because there are so many hurricanes, so we never lost power. There were pretty strong tropical storm force winds here for hours, but no hurricane force. We got lucky. Growing up in the Southeast, I have experienced many, many hurricanes. When one passes directly over your head it sounds like a locomotive howling. A sound you never forget.
But we are okay. I wish I could say the same for the folks in the Big Bend area and southern Georgia.
Take care Foxy.
We lost power for 8-9 hours Thursday night. It sucked, but nothing too terrible.Thoughts are for the good people of Florida and Georgia tonight as Helene made landfall and remains a dangerous storm. Hope WelfareQueen and Sherry and Montrovant and any others got glancing blows.

Yes, it does such to be without power, especially at night when you can't do anything else. But happy that was the worst of it for you.We lost power for 8-9 hours Thursday night. It sucked, but nothing too terrible.
So sorry. They add so much joy and comfort and entertainment to our lives and really become family. It hurts so bad when they pass, especially when our last act of love is to help them do that. The pain and grief is real. But I think all that unconditional love makes it worth it.Midnight didn't make it. He did really good during the day and things were looking up. Was feeding him small portions about every two hrs, he was moving good but during the night it all turned south. Was a hard night. Spent the night holding him and trying to comfort him. By the time the vet opened he was just about done. Vet gave him the opening sedative and I think he was gone before the final injection. He was the type of pet everyone loved and he loved em right back., hope to see him again someday.
Do you need the wheelchair otherwise?I'm in a wheelchair because my cat took my desk chair.
Only when my legs don't work, due to bruised knees, tired muscles, broken hip, etc. Last time was after a three mile walk with a flat bike tire. I didn't know the bike hack of stuffing a flat with grass.Do you need the wheelchair otherwise?
Wow. Well a lot of us dealing with various physical difficulties can relate. Hombre and I don't need wheelchairs, at least not yet, but finally had to admit using a cane does have its benefits so swallowed our pride and gave in. I know others are also dealing with a lot of stuff.Only when my legs don't work, due to bruised knees, tired muscles, broken hip, etc. Last time was after a three mile walk with a flat bike tire.
