USMB Coffee Shop IV

Today, in 1969....Was just a lad, but remember it like it was just yesterday...Was glued to the teevee listening to every call....

Same. Dad bought a Curtis Mathis color TV for the occasion which promptly blew up not long afterward.. Spent the rest of childhood saddled with a small black and white

Have officially quit worrying about daughter number 1 as far as finances go. The horse she bought at 16 seems to have spawned a monster stud which all by itself could put them on easy street. I was absolutely stunned and grateful.

These kids do tend to surprise us now and then. I continue to be impressed at some of the stuff they figure out on their own. :)

Yes, I remember watching it on a black and white console. I think the whole world that had access to television was watching it that night. It sure doesn't feel like it was 55 years ago.

I like to live in a more than modest beach house in a redwood forest on the coast of Northern California.

…a tree house would be nice as well.. 🙂

Can anybody spare 10 million dollars?

😁 .. Hello coffee lovin folks..

Well I don't have 10 millions dollars--could spare maybe $10?--but I could sure help you look for a place. Hugs to friend Lumpy 1. :)

It is still August 14 in Arizona so we can still commemorate National Codetalkers Day. Our New Mexico and Arizona Navajo and Hopi, as well as representatives from some other Native American tribes, were drafted into service in WWII to spot and report enemy air traffic and shipping in the Pacific. With their guttural and sometimes nasally intonations comprehensible mostly to them and no written language, the Japanese, master code breakers, were unable to figure it out, thus they could communicate with each other with impunity and were invaluable to the Allied effort in the war.

I posted a FYI in Current Events concerning a massive data breach where every Americans information (every bit of it, SSNs et al) was hacked. Some of the stupidity from some members reminds me of why I no longer post upstairs..........

At this point I imagine my information has become available to just about anyone that wants it. :( Some of these data breaches are so massive it's almost inevitable that anyone who has information stored online has had it stolen.

Yes it is my Aunt Betty--will be 98 next month--that keeps us here. That plus we are so well established with our medical network here, however awful it sometimes is, the thought of starting over somewhere else isn't pleasant.

It’s sounds like it’s more difficult to set up a medical network for care these days and luckily for me my still working wife’s/lucky me insurance coverage is considered golden and somewhat stupid to give up.

The primary reason I don't use my real name and birth date on any but the most necessary information fields in general, and antisocial media platforms in particular.
