Sure there was. It may have been half baked but it was meant to stop the Congress from doing its job. And for several hours, it did.

Oh dear, they were not even close to stopping it and 99.99% of the people who actually got into the building had no weapons at all. They mostly ran around in some of the halls and sat in some offices, no actual attempt to storm the Congressional chamber.
