US vs Iran Dilemma: Who to believe. Who has more credibility?

Trusting the mullahs is the height of stupidity.

Who said anything about "trusting" the Mullahs?

Yet it was Reagan no -- "Trust but Verify"

"Trust, but verify" (Russian: Доверяй, но проверяй — Doveryay, no proveryay) is a traditional Russian proverb that rhymes in its native language. It advises balancing goodwill with accountability, meaning one should trust others but confirm their actions to ensure safety and accuracy.

Iran is no more and no less trustworthy than President Trump and FOX News - both lied to the American public, while laughing at them

Iran and the mullahs can't be trusted.

It was a bad deal.

We first looked at posting this on the Politics Board, then on the Military Board, then The Iran Board, and then On further thought - after writing out much of this post, We decided to settle on the Politics Board (Discuss politics, government policies and candidates). This is about so much more than just what it may present itself as on first look. 👨‍🏫

We in the American public, as well as those all over the world are stuck with a US vs Iran Dilemma: Who to believe. Who has more credibility? It's pathetic that we come to this, but back in 2016 Jeb Bush warned us all: "Chaos Candidate...Chaos President" - truer words were never spoken.

The latest issue (one in a long list) is this

Which is it? The Trump administration has lost all credibility with the US public and with the public and Leaders around the world -- mostly allies. This Bull-in-a-China-Shop routine has damaged relations that will take a few presidencies to repair -- if possible. Things will never be the same. No going back.

We've reached a point where the US looks like the Baghdad Bob of International Relations. Thank you Donald J. Trump.

We can't even imitate former President Ronald Reagan, when he said "Trust, but verify" (doveryai, no proveryai - Russian proverb). There is little to no trust when dealing with the Trump administration.
At the moment, sad as it is to say, the Iranian government has more credibility than the tRumplings. We just found out that most of the US bases in the region of the conflict have been heavily damaged to the point of inoperability.

And we only found that out because they went hat in hand to congress and asked for $200 billion to fix them. Otherwise we might have never known.

And that's gotta make you wonder about the casualty count. I'd say it's pretty hard to do so much damage to an airbase that it is unusable without killing a few more that 15 people.

It also confirms Iran's version of the story when they claimed they were hitting those bases and tRump denied it.

Actual language in the news report? U.S. Central Command is denying any reports of serious damage.
Earlier today it was denying the attack happened at all.

We are not doing it like it was done before now. Times change, different tactics are necessary to win.
We're not? I recall Nixon sending in the B-52s to carpet bomb North Vietnam to get them to negotiate. Sounds familiar to me. Of course there are differences, our goals were much clearer back then.

They don’t have a nuke and Trump obliterated their nuclear capability

Obviously the US was mistaken that they had obliterated their nuclear capability after the first 1-2 day bombing a while back. I’m glad to know that you recognize that obliterating the threat is the way to go. We are. Working on that now.

Did Trump tell you he was mistaken?

Was he mistaken because he was wrong or because it no longer fits his political agenda?

He and his advisor’s were mistaken. They thought they had gotten it all, but they didn’t. It happens.

Funny thing is the left opposed that bombing as well and even after it was thought they had gotten it all, they gave this administration no credit.
