Why are we funding al Qaeda in Syria? I thought they were our enemies? You don't fund and provide material support for your enemies, do you? American's are so dumbed down from the corporate media, that there's virtually no outrage over this story.

This is prima facia evidence that the GWOT is a fraud.

The Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) currently arming, funding, and commanding entire brigades of the so-called “Free Syrian Army” (FSA), is designated an Al Qaeda affiliate by the United Nations pursuant to resolutions 1267 (1999) and 1989 (2011), in addition to being listed by both the US State Department and the UK Home Office as a foreign terrorist organization and a proscribed terrorist organization respectively.

This means that the United States, the UK, NATO, and the Gulf State despots of Saudi Arabia and Qatar are knowingly and willfully funding, arming, and politically backing designated affiliates of Al Qaeda contrary not only to US and British anti-terror legislation, but contrary to numerous UN resolutions as well. Western and Gulf State support of the FSA constitutes state sponsorship of terrorism.

I'm really astonished this story is not getting any traction.

His comments about stopping weapons could draw criticism from Gulf Arab countries that - with Western blessing - support arming the rebels trying to topple President Bashar al-Assad. Syrian rebels took up arms after mainly peaceful protests were met with brutality by Assad's regular forces and militia. For his part, Assad - whose main arms supplier has been Russia - says he faces a "terrorist" campaign to overthrow him and has pledged to stamp it out. Neither side has shown any inclination to negotiate.

France (and the West) Are Playing Both Sides

It is a fact that France itself has provided state sponsorship of terrorism from Libya to Syria, arming, funding, and politically backing the very groups taking to the streets, burning Western consulates, and killing bystanders, diplomats, and security forces alike. It is you that espouses a lack of understanding of the bigger picture. Islam is divided between Sunni and Shiite Muslims and there has been much fighting between these groups for years. Whabbi Muslims is a Saudi sect that splintered off of the Sunnis. The United States and the Israelis have exploited the hostilities between these two groups to get them fighting one another (divide & rule) to further their agenda for the region. There is an agenda for the Middle East and there are think tanks that write policy papers about it, so it is no "conspiracy theory". It's a shame you haven't read more books or any of the white papers (documents that the think tanks publish) or you would know there is a "Western plot" for the Middle East. Canada and Poland (and others) are part of NATO, led by the US army, the world's biggest terrorist organization, they'll attack anyone, anytime, for any non-existant reason. 'Nuff said?

Russia? the only reason they're not as bad as the US is because they're broke. Plus, most terrorist arsenals are from Russia. And most rogue states are supported by Russia. They murder with radioactive material, spy... and are generally just not very nice people internationally.
