US Military Flights Cost As Much As Five Times More Than First Class Commercial Flights For Deportees

U.S. President Donald Trump's military deportation flight to Guatemala on Monday likely cost at least $4,675 per migrant, according to data provided by U.S. and Guatemalan officials.
That is more than five times the $853 cost of a one-way first class ticket on American Airlines from El Paso, Texas, the departure point for the flight, according to a review of publicly available airfares.
It is also significantly higher than the cost of a commercial charter flight by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Will this be reviewed by the new unconstitutional DOGE dept.?

What's the extra costs for the reporters and Dr. Phil?

The tax payers want to know.
"A U.S. official, speaking to Reuters on condition of anonymity, estimated the cost to operate a C-17 military transport aircraft is $28,500 per hour. The flight back and forth to Guatemala, not including time on the ground or any operations to prepare the flight for takeoff, took about 10-1/2 hours in the air to complete, the official said."

WHAT?

Other than fuel and maintenance, it costs zero percent more than we are already paying. We own the plane, the flight crew and maintenance crew are being paid regardless of whether they fly this flight or not. There is no insurance costs. And the pilots gain useful experience.

Where is the additional expense?

Conservatives don't care how much it costs to advance their agenda of racism, bigotry, and hate.

It surprised, I’ve long said the private sector is more cost efficient then govt

But it’s not United airlines jobs to handle illegals

They're bitching about nothing. The money is being reinvested directly into the military.
The algebraic sum of cost it's no doubt much lower than what they're bitching about.

In any case should anything bad happen to any of the immigrants on the way out and the way back the immigration advocacy groups can sue private airlinees but they cannot sue the military.

Funny but that's not what you said when Democrats were flying on military planes. Then it was an abuse of the public purse.

At some point the price will go down when we figure out how to stack them up like cordwood in those planes.

The look pretty comfortable. Troops using the seats would be in full gear during combat ops, and the rest of their gear would be crowding up the rest of the aircraft.

Where’s the expense?

Jet fuel, landing fees, servicing and inspection of the plane prior to return to the USA, as well as taxes and servicing costs in Columbia. You can't land at a large commercial airport for free, feed your crew and put them up in a hotel. Flight crews are restricted in how long they can spend in the air in a 24 hour period, so they'd need to stay overnight and return the next day, if they don't carry extra flight crew.

Taking military crews and planes out of military operations reduces your military capacity and readiness.

Actually it's pretty good practice for the haulers, and it's flight time.

A bargain at any price. Biden's illegals cost American taxpayers over $150 BILLION per year.

The FAIR study, released in March last year, documented the financial toll of illegal immigration on the U.S., taking into account factors like emergency medical care, incarcerating illegal aliens in local jails, and federal budgets that pay out billions in welfare every year, pegging the net annual cost at $150.7 billion.
