Trump said on Saturday he will raise from 10% to 15% a temporary tariff rate on U.S. imports from all countries, which he imposed after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled against his signature tariff program based on an economic emergency law.

Infuriated by the high court's ruling, Trump on Friday ordered an immediate 10% tariff on all imports, in addition to any existing tariffs. The law allows him to impose a levy of up to 15% for 150 days.

In negotiations, the first offer is usually the best offer. Guessing Trump plays by the same rules.

Furious Trump Imposes 1000% Tariff On Supreme Court

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Following a ruling stripping him of his ability to impose emergency tariffs, a visibly furious President Donald Trump imposed a 1,000% tariff on the United States Supreme Court.

In a 6-3 decision, SCOTUS ruled Trump overstepped his authority with sweeping tariffs under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), relegating the power back to Congress. But not so fast, said Trump, authorizing a 1,000% tariff on the court.

"If you want your tariff rate to be zero, you have to let me use tariffs," Trump reportedly told Chief Justice John Roberts in a heated exchange. "Tariffs are saving this country, a lot of people are saying that, and you're taking the power away because you are fake law."

Fortunately for SCOTUS, they do not export any goods to the United States, so it is a mostly symbolic gesture.

"I think we're just going to leave the ruling as is," Chief Justice John Roberts said. "It's not like he can fire me."

"Oh, those tariffs just got twice as big," Trump later told reporters after learning of the Chief Justice's remarks. "I'm going to tariff him until he retires. I'm going to tariff his breakfast cereal. His water. All of it."

At publishing time, President Trump had imposed a 80% tariff on the White House staffer who told him he didn't have the authority to impose tariffs on the Supreme Court.

Who knew conservatives loved taxes so much?

Thanks MAGA!

Even before the Supreme Court handed a blow to President Donald Trump's sweeping trade policy, Americans were already voicing strong disapproval in national polling of his handling of tariffs.

A Fox News survey conducted between Jan. 23 and 26 found 63% of registered voters disapprove of Trump’s handling of tariffs, while 37% approve, a 26-point deficit that ranks trade among his weakest-performing issues.

The results highlight resistance to the administration’s aggressive trade strategy. The White House has promoted tariffs as both an economic lever and a source of federal revenue, but the poll suggests that argument is not resonating with many voters.

I don't think this is going to play well with the voters in November. Trump isn't on the ballot but his party is.

It's not a "tax" if you don't buy their products. The "tax" is entirely upon those countries that manufacture and export the products, so your statement is pure bunk.
Crazy how people who claim to be fiscal conservatives don't know that U.S. tax payers are the ones paying for tariffs

There is more to this SCOTUS decision than meets the eye:

CJ Roberts joined the majority in order to write it. This is a narrow decision which prevents a future Democrat President from declaring everything as an emergency. It allows Trump to use alternate means for tariffs and does not require a refund.

It also demonstrates that Trump is not a dictator, but it sets the stage for other pro-Trump decisions. This is a masterful strategy that will benefit the GOP in the upcoming elections. Democrats are celebrating their own funerals.

Another dumb **** that has never read Adam Smith. Amazing just how utterly stupid these "Conservatives" are.

We also are paying for the billions wasted in Minnesota and you aren't concerned about stopping it. You loons cried about the tariffs before going to raise the cost of everything. Didn't happen, so shut up with your TDS.

Funny that no matter how many times you say this, it's not true.

Tariffs are paid by CORPORATIONS, not INDIVIDUALS. And it's by choice, as NOBODY is making them buy foreign products.

/——/ I don’t pay tariffs because I buy American made whenever possible. If you’re dumb enough to—— well, that’s a shame.
