US Court Of International Trade Blocks All Of Trumps Tariffs. All Of Them

The court’s ruling, however, found that justification inadequate under the 1977 International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA).=
A list of ongoing "National Emergencies" used to invoke executive action under the IEEPA:

I'd love to see a rational, reasoned argument for the position that the justifications for the last 5 national emergencies are inconsistent with the preceding 40 or so.
Anyone?

A federal court has struck down Donald Trump’s “Liberation Day” tariffs, ruling that the president overstepped his legal authority in imposing them on a broad range of countries, according to media reports.

The U.S. Court of International Trade issued the unanimous decision Wednesday, rejecting Trump’s April 2 tariff order – which he claimed was justified by national emergencies, Politico reported. The court’s ruling, however, found that justification inadequate under the 1977 International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA).

The three-judge panel also ordered that tariffs collected under Trump’s order be “vacated.” The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

That includes China. And the US may have to pay all of them back.
You were saying? :lmao:

Sure.

But a tariff is not a trade agreement

Congress is not equipped to manage foreign trade

I think trump will win this argument with the libs

But it will leave him - and America - in limbo for a while
Tariffs are in trade agreements, the President single handedly changing all those tariffs and non tariff products, agreed upon in the legal, sign by all parties trade agreement for no emergency reason that was declared, is illegal....is what this trade court decided yesterday....in the suit brought by State Attorney Generals.

They said the president can keep wheeling and dealing all he wants basically, but he can not do so as sweeping and broad as he did, under the authority of this emergency that he declared which was specific to the fentanyl crisis in America with drugs coming in through Canada and Mexico.

Congress can also legislate more temporary authority given to him.

My guess is they couldn't get anything done on their own.
Or vendoring out their own responsibilities. That's how the bureaucracy was born......pass 'fill in the blanks' bills.

You're right on with the lower court ruling.

He's only using that power on the countries who've had the biggest imbalances for decades, which is within the IEEPA . That's why the 10% tariff rates are out there on other countries.

But you wouldn't pass them all along if your profits decreased because sales decreased due to the price increase. See how that works? Yeah, the same goes for suppliers. They will eat some of the tariffs if their profits decrease due to less purchases. You guys are really stupid.

NO, stupid is imposing a tariff that increases the cost of doing business without providing any benefit.

So we should continue to allow other countries especially China to continue taking advantage of this country?
You're asking that question to the wrong guy. Joeblow is posting with a hand on the back of his neck.

So we should continue to allow other countries especially China to continue taking advantage of this country?
How are they doing that?
Are there PLA detachments at your local WalMart making you buy Chinese goods?

Wait, there aren't? You are waddling down the rows on your Rascal buying Chinese goods over slightly more expensive American ones?

Well these judges, whoever they may be, are clearly pedophiles.
